It's a miracle that he wasn't somehow thrown from the wreckage or he himself cut in half. He was also sitting in the flames for what seemed like a good 30 seconds or so, I believe he's only suffered fairly minor burns when you consider that even being exposed to fire for even 5 seconds is enough to really mess you up.

Really goes to show you just how good & important those suits are when it comes to being resistant to heat & fire.

Yeah, it’s good that they have decent precautions but also a reminder of how deadly the sport can be and that we can’t rest just because there haven’t been too many major accident recently. If a driver or crew or track staff are seriously injured or killed then noone will care about who is winning the race or the title. So it should be the no.1 priority always.

Yep, it’s not going to be a procession this time if that race is any indication. Hamilton is going to have to fight hard and earn that record of most titles if he really wants it. Verstappen has a great chance this year.
