🏎️ Formula One

IIRC, it's 43 races ahead of Schumacher's total as well. I knew it was close, but it wasn't until Qualy started that I realised how close. Both messages from the Schumacher family and from Hamilton were really nice to see.

New Lap Record as well.

Yeah getting the lap record is very impressive. And I just assumed Schumacher would be completely out of reach. Where can I see the messages?

Great stuff

Hamilton back on top after the Italian Grand Prix.

Quite a bland race on the surface, but when you realise both Mercedes had their engines turned down on lap 30(ish) and still were able to pull away from the Ferrari... it shows how badly the Ferrari is on power.

Cannot see Honda being at McLaren next year...

It's a bad sign for Ferrari for the rest of the season. They need to go away and do some work.

While i'm a Lewis fan & want him to win... Ferrari failing like this is not good for the spectacle of the sport... we need more teams at the front to fight.

we also need to stop with the mother****ing grid penalties.... utter farce when only ONE driver started the race where he qualified. They were brought in to try and save costs... but none of the teams seem to be saving anything...

Agreed. I thought this was going to be the most competitive season in ages (at least between drivers of different teams).

Yeah it's getting a bit silly lol.

Big blow to Vettel's title hopes after being forced to retire at the Singapore GP while Hamilton takes the victory. 28 point lead now.

Lots of talk that this could be the turning point for the WDC race.

Still can't believe Ferrari repeatedly used twitter to blame Max when, if any blame should be given out, it was Seb's fault for the whole thing.

To me it was just a race incident. Formula 1 is all about burning witches lately, every crash has to be someone guilty to lost time and/or grid positions in the next race and it's not always like that.

But I agree that if someone was responsible for what happened yesterday, it should be Vettel.

I think every incident should be investigated TBH... even if it ends up with just the stewards saying 'Racing incident'.... specially one that was so big and could have a massive impact on the WDC race

Agreed that some incidents will just be part of what happens in F1 over a season. They should investigate them all and some should be labelled as such with no blame being doled out.

And I'll be forever pissed because of this.

Hamilton on pole and Vettel will start at the back of the grid.

Wouldn't shock me if Ferrari give Seb a new EVERYTHING and just take the grid penalty tomorrow.... no need to worry about it as they're at the back of the grid anyway

If they got away with it would probably be a good strategy lol.

Hamilton on pole for Japan.

yep...

Also, it's been revealed that it's Palmer's last race for Renault tomorrow.... he's stepping aside for Sainz from Austin with Kyvat taking Sainz's seat at STR

i'm a bit out of touch... i saw Button listed as a driver for 2017, but he hasn't raced in years?

Ferrari are totally collapsing. Thought this was going to be a close title race this year but the lead is getting a bit too big now after that Japan result.

He's been racing at McLaren, but just very low profile as McLaren haven't been competitive in ages. Also took a bit of a break recently which is why you might have seen some races without him.

Alonso missed Monaco to race in the Indy 500 this year.... Button was called up to replace him for the race.

Hamilton can win the title on Sunday if he wins the US Grand Prix and Vettel finishes lower than fifth.
