What a damn shame for Leclerc. Ferrari car let him down. Ferrari had a bad weekend thanks to Vettel’s possible swirve driving and the general slow down on Charles’ car. Really sad for the bloke. The race was his through and through and then Mercedes got in with solid overtaking from Hamilton and won big time. What a darn shame. Verstappen is likely ticked with his result

The worst is Renault though!! Red Bull must be laughing their arses off as to break with them and go off with Honda. The new partnetship is totally paying off and sadly for Renault their pick of riccardio is backfiring hard core!!
Poor guy. He should have had his first win at such a young age. Although it can’t be faraway if he continues to perform like this.

I've been watching that Formula 1 series on Netflix. The whole culture of driving is fascinating.

Has anyone here been to the Grand Prix? I went to the one in Montreal. I'd love to go to Italy this year.

I've been to the USGP in Austin twice and Silverstone back in the UK once.
They're a fantastic experience, there's a lot to see besides just the race and the crowd is usually very enthusiastic. Pretty expensive weekends though. But they often have pretty good entertainment. Austin has had Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and Bruno Mars, amongst other big names.

Very strange how both Renault's died on the same corner, same lap. I feel very bad for Ricciardo, I understand why he moved away from RB, but I kind of wish he hadn't.

Hard to tell so early, but it looks like we may have a higher chance of a three-way championship fight between teams this year, with 5 strong drivers in potential race winning cars.

Bottle takes pole for China (apparently F1’s 1,000th race).

I don't really understand his move. The way it seemed, the engines on the RB cars was frustrating the drivers and Ricciardo wanted to move away from the team...to the team that built the RB engines in the first place.

Or did he leave because he hated his teammate?

From my understanding, it was obvious to him that Red Bull were building their future around Verstappen. I don't think he wanted to become another Mark Webber and play second fiddle to a champion who has the car built around their driving style.

Between that and the lack of support he seems to have been given last season (especially around his crash with Verstappen in Baku), I can definitely understand his motivation. With Renault, he gets top driver status and can potentially be a big part of their rebuilding.

Ah that makes sense. Thanks!

I'd be pissed if I owned that Red Bull team and my drivers were crashing into each other because their egos were too big. I get competitiveness, but it's like playing chicken with extremely fast and expensive cars.

Pretty much rule #1 of motorsports, don't hit your teammate!

That said, many people (including Ricciardo) felt that Verstappen was primarily to blame for that incident, yet Red Bull seemed to apportion the blame equally.

That clash between Verstappen and Ricciardo was unfortunate but I think Red Bull clearly have good reason to back Verstappen over Ricciardo given his overall better performance last year and things look set to repeat themselves this year.

Renault are in serious trouble with both cars failing last race and again Hulkenberg’s apparently failing for similar MGU-K issues. Red Bull’s prior analysis of problematic Renault engines leading them to Honda is so far paying off big time.

Granted Ricciardo has a chance to rebuild and become a primary driver with Renault but both will need to do serious tinkering and hammer out issues if they want to remotely compete with the top 3. This will be a long term gameplan for them. I predict there will be some serious knocks and pains this season before they make a solid comeback towards the end of the year and capitalize on that for next year. It would be both hilarious and sad though if Haas manages to beat Renault this year. Renault for their long standing tradition of excellence and huge capital cannot be stuck competing against mid-tier constructors. These folks really need to up their game.

As an aside Leclerc is super talented. The bloke is performing so well. Really hope he remains like this long-term; he has a pretty promising career!

I’ve been to the Bahrain one years ago. It was amazing but super hot. Lots to do and kind of closed off (the track is somewhat isolated and is located more south/south west of any major city)

Amazing experience but I do like watching the race on tv! Would love to go again though to another GP!

Bottas now a point ahead of Hamilton in the title race after winning the Azerbaijan grand prix.

I was way behind as I'm on hols and just saw the Spanish GP. Hamilton back on top. Ferrari not looking at the races so far this year.

Just realised Verstappen is ahead of Vettel in the title race this year! Looks like it's going to come down to a shootout between Hamilton and Bottas. Ferrari need to turn things around right now or this season will be a writeoff. I would also like to see Red Bull continue to improve.

Hamilton gets pole for Monaco. Bottas 2nd, Verstappen 3rd. At this rate Verstappen has a chance to finish ahead of Vettel at the end of the season.

WOW!!!!!!!! What a race! Congrats to Pagenaud! Rossi did a hell of a job, too!

The Monaco GP was great. Shame Verstappen incurred a penalty as he deserved 2nd spot for all his efforts throughout the race.

Ferrari finally do something! Vettel gets pole ahead of Hamilton with Leclerc in 3rd.

Vettel picks up a penalty which means he has to give up his win to Hamilton. Leclerc finished 3rd, Bottas 4th.

Looks like business as usual again. Hamilton pips Bottas to pole at the French.

Hamilton wins in France. Bottas 2nd, LeClerc 3rd.

For the Austrian GP, Leclerc gets pole, Verstappen 2nd and Bottas 3rd after various grid penalties are taken into account.
