Wake up! It was hard to shake you from that turkey-induced food coma. For this mashed potato-free version of The 1UP Show, Team 1UP Show locked esteemed EGM reviewers Crispin Boyer and Shane Bettenhausen in a room, along with 1UP's own Jeremy Parish (and me) to discuss The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Awesome game...or awesomest game ever?

Just because we're all pretty enamored with Link's latest adventure doesn't mean our sweet and simple conversation lacks controversy, though. Someone in our group thinks it looks better than Gears of War -- and no, it's not Shane.

Is the latest Zelda a golden experience? Did Link get the platinum crowns on his teeth or the ****ty gold ones? Watch and see how it scored in EGM.

Good. I can fit it in tonight.

BTW, you get through the forest Temple?

Yes I'm just entering the water temple now, go me.

I beat this game on hardcore two days ago. Totally overrated. The Ganondorf fight was mediocre and generic. I traded it in for NBA Hoops. Liking that much more.

I thought it was pretty funny. I liked the "traded it in for NBA Hoops" bit.

The wii will be mine come 8th dec. Is the Water temple as Evil as the one in OOT?

The water Temple is evil personafide; it doesn't matter what game or even genre it appears in.

Yep. Ever since OoT, I will ALWAYS use a guide to get through a water-themed level.

I refuse to use a guide while playing Zelda. The joy is the sense of accomplishment after completing puzzles. Not having other people tell you how to do it. :o

This game doesn't need a guide. Plus, I've just been wondering around ever since the third dungeon. I have so many other things I want to explore that I haven't even bothered pursuing the mission. I will... just after I learn my next sword technique, go fishing for a spell and some other stuff. I'm right at 30 hours, and the most significant thing I've done is [blackout]get the Master Sword[/blackout]

I'll have more time on Monday when I have to "work".

PS - NBA hoops = hahaha:up:

Does it have spoilers? I just beat the second dungeon.

Gah.. I dont have the Bandwidth to DL it :( *sadness*

ROFL... I spent about 2 hours just fishing on my friends Wii.

I cant wait to pick mine up next week

Watching that, I'm anticipating playing that game more than ever now.

I use a guide because:

a) provides detailed maps.
b) lists locations of heart pieces, bugs, and poe souls (which are easy to lose track of).
c) help when I'm stuck
d) pictures

So far, I have only used the guide to find heart pieces and some parts of dungeons. I completed Forest Temple, Goron Mines, Arbiter's Grounds, and Temple of Time never looking at the guide. Plus I solved a bunch of those annoying "slide blocks on ice to activate a switch" puzzles. I always hated them.

I find that if you have a guide, the tempation to look at it is too great.

It's much more satisfying to run around stuck for 10 minutes and finally figure it out instead of going to the guide everytime you're puzzled. And I enjoy finding heart pieces by myself.

Zelda isn't a game where aguide is absolutely necassery, because you can ALWAYS go back to find ehart pieces and whatever at any point.
