8-year-old arrested in double-homicide

Wow... that's just awful.

premeditated murder nonetheless, this sounds interesting.

Exclusive picture of the boy in question...

We should have a limit to the number of sad and disturbing news stories per day.

Yeah no kidding. I wake up. Go to the hype & find out while I was sleeping a 5 year old re-inacted the scene Pulp Fiction except it was with acid. Major downer man.

What was the relation of the man to the boy's father? I'm not attempting to be homophobic in the least, but dealing with a divorce and then having your father cheating on your step mom with some guy might be confusing enough to make the kid hate his father.

Children generally look up to adults, especially parents. Even victims of abuse. So for a child to have killed his father and a witness and then lied about it (and probably would have gotten away because he's 8) means that either someone else is involved or something VERY wrong happened.

No offence to my U.S friends but.........."Only in America"

Stories like this make me remember why Harlan Ellison and a cho author I can't remember story "Rodney Parish for Hire" is the most frightening fiction I've ever read.

That's bulls**t. I'm sure stuff like this happens all around the world. We don't have the market cornered on "crazy f**king people" or "people who severly f**k up their kids." Vlad the Impaler was European, and was doing all sorts of crazy s**t very early on in his life. True, he had more style than the kid in this story but you know...European.

LOL. I know that. But as soon as I see this thread I was like " I guarantee this is from America" I don't mean it to diss Americans, i love Americans but no where else in the world can a kid in a family home find a gun so easily accessible. I ain't being racist but this story just screams "American", to me it does anyway.

It's the same sorta principle as that fat woman who tried to sue McDonalds for making her fat. "Only in America"

It's them damn video games, comic books, and movies. I kid.

There's probably an explaination as to why he decided to kill these two folks. I'm not saying that it's an excuse, but I am saying that 8-year-olds rarely have the capacity to make the best decisions and if said 8-year-old's guardians haven't helped train this or address this or if there were unmentioned social or psychological disturbances I can see that it's very believeable. We often times mark children as innocents, but that isn't always the case.

Is it any more believeable that a man could kill two people than a child?

The strangest thing about this is that the kid first lied about it, he obviously knew what he done was wrong. How can a 8 year old even think of such things? When I was 8 all i thought about was playing football, playing games and all that sort of stuff. What has happened to this 8 year old that has put the idea of murder in his head? And even more amazing, how in gods name can a 8 year old be able to load and operate a gun? Something smells fishy.

The article does make you wonder if the confession was co-erced. I too find it hard to believe an 8 year old could plan this all on his own, at least not if he hadn't been abused and seriously motivated. :(

It's terrible but I'm a bit skeptical on whether or not the boy is guilty.

I tend to agree with Squeek. Not knowing the events of the murder make it difficult to tell exactly how this kid behaved. Shooting them each twice in the chest and once in the fact with a 9mm is different then say driving a car into their heads. Seriously.

We're all being judgemental of an 8 year old who confessed to murder of two men without knowing the method or reason and also ignoring the fact that he confessed to cops (who have this tendancy to be *****bags) without be represented by a legal guardian or attorney. Is that confession even legally valid?

Trust me, no offense taken but that is SO SO SO false I can't emphasize that enough

I've heard of some pretty sick crimes OUTSIDE of America. Things like these happen everywhere, not 'only' in America...In fact things like these are most likely to happen outside of America in 3rd and 4th world countries with crappy governments.
