Frankly, not of a fan of either. But I'll give it to Hard Boiled, because Hard Target, which I really like, borrowed plenty from it.

This is a tough one, The Rock is great and one of the best action movies to utilize the Die Hard blueprint, and Hard Boiled is John Woo's bullet ballet style at it's zenith.

Never saw Hard Boiled but The Rock is one of my all time favorites. If you only watched that movie and none of Bay's other films, you might believe he's a capable action director. And Cage, Connery and Harris are dynamite in it.

Man, the 90s were the golden age of this brand of action movie. I kinda miss it.

Oh damn! I was hoping The Matrix vs T2 was going to be the final. Still not sure who I will vote for in that one. True Lies has done well to get to the semis.

I set it up like the 80's version, so it would be the "grounded" action movies on one side and the sci-fi action movies on the other, so we'd have a contrast in the final.

Yeah I thought that mate from your previous matchups. Good way to do it. I just happen to usually prefer the non-grounded ones like Aliens and Predator over the Die Hards and Lethal Weapons, even though I love them all.
