Though... "without prejudice" = the same charge could be refiled at a future date.
I'm sure they are being crazy careful with everything, taking no more chances.Alec Baldwin Resumes Filming Rust for the First Time Since Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins' Death
I am just flummoxed that this thing could resume filming and even more flummoxed that Baldwin is still participating. I could not even begin to imagine the atmosphere on set now.
Not every studio is crazily ready to throw away millions of dollars. And as for Alec....he's one of the producers, he probably feels the need to finish it.Alec Baldwin Resumes Filming Rust for the First Time Since Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins' Death

He may even have invested a bunch of his own money into it as well. Not every studio is crazily ready to throw away millions of dollars. And as for Alec....he's one of the producers, he probably feels the need to finish it.
I can see him getting quietly blacklisted after this, where he'll find it hard to get work he doesn't finance himself.I guess he won't be playing Donald Trump on SNL any time soon.
Like others said, they can't just throw money away. And even if money wasn't the problem, at least for me I'd find it disrespectful to the deceased to abandon their final project, unfinished.Alec Baldwin Resumes Filming Rust for the First Time Since Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins' Death

Since events during the productions of both Rust and The Crow were horrific — and fatal — I’m not quite sure how one or the other could be considered "worse" or more "controversial."Can't believe they actually went forward in finishing this and still plan to release it. This tragic situation and the reports of what it was like on-set are much worse and more controversial than even what happened during the filming of The Crow with Brandon, with charges pending and potentially another charge for Baldwin. I just don't see what the benefit of finishing the film could be, business-wise. It's not like this will make any money.
They are pursuing that angle — with charges against the armorer.I still dont understand how and why the main question of this whole investigation isn't "how did the live rounds get on set?!" Is that NOT the #1 questions legal should be investigating?

I think Baldwin's role as producer comes into play as well, with him being somewhat in charge. They are pursuing that angle — with charges against the armorer.
It seems the prosecution’s theory of the case is two-fold: Baldwin could/should have nullified the armorer’s mistake by not pointing the weapon at a person. And the armorer could/should have nullified Baldwin’s mistake by not loading the weapon with live rounds. Therefore, they’re both guilty…![]()
Possible. Though... according to the movie's Wikipedia page, there are six other named producers. And to my knowledge, none of them have been charged. (But I stand to be corrected.)I think Baldwin's role as producer comes into play as well, with him being somewhat in charge.
