Loved her since Chasing Pavements and 19. Hometown Glory is still one of my favorite songs, and hope for more great songs from her for her new album. I enjoyed Hello, but would like another Rolling in the Deep or Rumor Has It from her before she gets labeled as boring like Sam Smith.

Also the music video for Hello was able to accumulate 200 million views in less than two weeks.

i still haven't seen the Hello video lol

but i've been a fan since Chasing Pavements as well

Adele released a new song today called "When We Were Young":

Extended snippets of her album leaked. I really like 'em. Doesn't sound very much like 21 at all. "Water Under the Bridge" is an obvious future single.

So When We Were Young is now my favorite song ever. :)

I like it, but it's honestly probably one of my least favorites on the album. It's a damn good album, imo.

Ok, if you insist.

JK I can't! :oldrazz: I just have to say "Sweetest Devotion" is the first "happy Adele" song I feel we've ever gotten and it's like pure joy in song form. I adore it. :hrt:

:highfive:

I'm buying the album after Thanksgiving. It's a Christmas gift to myself. :p

Me and my gf have been listening to 25 on repeat the last few days. Really great material, I would say it's better than 21. Top pics:

Hello
Send My Love (To Your Lover)
Miss You
River Lea
Million Years Ago
Sweetest Perfection.

Didn't become a fan until recently but I'm really blown away & proud of all of her success. Gotta give credit to anyone who, in this day and age, can pull off such phenomenal numbers.

Yeah, I agree it's better than 21. That was more of a "singles" album for me, so I'd always skip a song here and there. This album I find myself listening to all the way through, without skipping a track. My top picks after several listens:

-Sweetest Devotion
-Water Under the Bridge
-Remedy
-River Lea
-Million Years Ago

I see a lot of praise for "All I Ask" as the great piano ballad of the album, and while it is a strong song, I feel like it's just SO overwrought that it wears on me over time. "Remedy" is my preferred piano ballad for its simplicity. It's just lovely to me. I think it's poorly placed on the album though, because it comes right after the grand production of "When We Were Young," which makes it sound like it lacks "oomph" in comparison.

Well it IS a Bruno Mars song, so yes it should be overwrought.

^Not only was that a great performance, but I really like that slightly faster tempo for that song.

Ah, it's written by a guy named Tobias Jesso Jr. who put his debut album out earlier this year called Goon. Takes its cues from early Randy Newman.

There's a whole interesting backstory to this album too. He was a bassist for a Canadian pop singer living in LA hating it and thinking this isn't what I wanted to be doing or the music I wanted to be making. Then his girlfriend of 5 years breaks up with him, and then his mom gets diagnosed with cancer so he moves back to Canada to take care of her. While he was there, he started writing songs on the piano for the first time and basically the entire album is a breakup album about his ex.

that adele thanksgiving skit was pretty funny. she was there though, they should've thrown her in!
