After this last clash...Is Iron Man finished?

I usually just drink a giant bottle of water early in the day and take frequent bathroom breaks. Urinating really is more fun than my job.

Dude, I take so many bathroom breaks that I think everyone thinks I have an enlarged prostate or something.

I've had the same stack of folders I'm supposed to be making changes to on my desk for two days. I'm trying to obscure the names so that my boss doesn't notice them, but really, all I have to do is switch off the Hype and onto another tab in my browser when she's behind me and I'm good. We already don't like each other but I think the budget is so ****ed that it'd take her forever to find a new assistant, so she tolerates me.

'Cause he's Happy Hogan. No one cares about him. I didn't even know he was dead until The Order #1. :o

Just keep your thumb on the 'minimize window' tab and you're cool...then start keying strokes like crazy! :woot:

looking busy is definitely > being busy.

however, GETTING busy > everything else. But this is still a family thread.

I think dude with the stick was ODIN...all the talk about taking care of the FUTURE makes me think so. Besides, Big O don't take any stuff from ANYONE. But come to think of it, WHO is this mysterious backup Shellhead brought along? Possibilities...

Clor
Hercules

It's supposed to be unexpected and a shocker.

Anything but a clone of Cap...I think that would blow it for sure...:wow:

My bet is either Clor or Ares. Hercules wouldn't follow Iron Man anywhere.

I hope Odin doesn't come back. Thor's grown out of the need for him as a character, and this is a new Asgard unencumbered by any rules or mythical bases, so he's not necessary from that perspective, either. Odin's death was one of the best things to happen to Thor, really. Now he can be treated as a foreign king, basically, instead of just some unruly rich boy.

No, most of the time I don't actually have to go.

Bathroom breaks are the best. There's no time limit. You can be gone for 20 minutes, and if someone asks you, you can just pull the late night burrito card.

I also like setting up sick days days in advance. Like if I know I'm calling in sick on Friday, I'll start faking symptoms on a Tuesday, coughing, sneezing etc.

Meh, that's too much work for me. Plus, I can't fake-sneeze at all.

That's the way to do it.

All it takes is a few comments here and there about a migraine or an upset stomach.

I've left early on the basis of an upset stomach before. I really did have one, though. I seem to be really honest about sickness; it doesn't even occur to me to use sick days unless I'm actually sick, which I rarely am.

I think Odin could return, but as a retired skyfather (ala Tiwaz). In the past, the only way Odin could force Thor to obey Asgard was to strip him of his powers or immortality. But I think his time has passed. Although he respected Thor he still would pull a trump card like that off and on. It finally stopped during the Godpack series where Thor was fed up and exiled himself on Earth (and Odin went through the whole Red Norvell thing again).

Odin realized his mistake in constantly fooling with Thor's essence during the 'madness' Thor suffered when he went crazy and nearly wrecked everything. Constant tampering with Thor's soul messed him up. Fortunately Thunder was strong enough to cure himself later.

But this time it would be different. It's Thor's time to wield the power, and he's gone through the same trials as Odin and come out stronger. This was Odin's plan all along.

And Thor's physically stronger (without enhancement) than Odin ever was. Odin developed better use and control of his skypower ability once he was no longer in his physical prime. Thor has the benefit (and knowledge) of having gone through his trials at a much earlier age.

So Odin I think would be an advisor (I'd like to see Tiwaz, too!) as part of Thor's high council. It could work with good writing.

And Iron Man is still a Skrull.

If Odin is not around, does not Thor become a Skyfather and therefore he would be outside the scope of the SHRA?

I think it wil end in a compromise however because I do not see World War thor on the horizon.

You gotta abuse the system, man. It's the American way.

You know, I actually wouldn't mind that. You could even take Odin down to just his robed wanderer visual and have him roam around Earth. Odin replacing the Vizier, whom I never really got invested in as a character at all, in Thor's court would be good. Tiwaz might be reaching a bit too far back, though.

Odin being present and not in charge doesn't sit well with me. I've always seen Odin as the big guy in the big chair, not the big standing next to the big chair.

But Thor is the big guy in the big chair now. Given how ****ty Earth has become in his absence, he might finally withdraw and do some actual ruling of his own people once they're back, too.

And that's fine. I'm just saying that if Odin came back, I don't want to see him in any role other then king.

The only place I could see there being a problem is if they ever disagree. It'd feel really weird for Thor to overrule Odin. But advisors only make suggestions anyway.

No. No Odin as an advisor. That's just a bad idea.

I have to agree with photojones. It is hard to see Odin as just a secondary advisor. If he comes back I see Thor relinquishing poer back to him :(.

Listen to Optimus Prime, you need to have that checked.

edit: Sorry, didn't seen the follow up posts on that.
