Alan Partridge respect thread

So you don't think I can tell anecdotes... right, I'll tell you an anecdote. In 1975 I was catching the London train from Crew Station. It was very crowded, I found myself in a last minute rush for the last remaining seat with a tall good looking man with colour length hair. It was the 70's, Buckaroo! When I sat down on the chair, I looked up and realised it was none other than Peter Pervis, it was at the height of his Blue Peter fame. He said 'you jammy bastard' and quick as a flash I replied, 'don't be blue Peter.' Needless to say I had the last laugh, now f*** off!

Alan Partridge  One of the best characters ever, I never tire of watching the show.

It's true, I have seen each episode more times than I can remember and I still find new things to laugh at.

I've never seen it, but I'll watch anything with Steve Coogan, and hopefully I'll be able to get the dvd releases of this someday

This is a hardcore thread revival, but I'm wondering if there are any Partridge fans about. Series 2 of his podcast show "From The Oasthouse" dropped recently and it has sparked me to do a massive re-watch/listen session.

What a great, ridiculous character. I can't think of a creation that has been as enduring or as creatively succeessful across mulptiple formats. Surprisingly detailed continuity too. The way his autobiography stitches Alan's various misadventures together is masterful, especially how those events are retold to paint himself in a more positive light. The audiobooks might be my favourite content these days.
