Alcohol... the cause and solution to all our problems.

Take a wine class.

They tend to mostly just rinse and spit.

My wine palate isn't sophisticated enough to tell you differences in individual wines, sorry. My knowledge pretty much stops at red vs white.

I don't like wine. I don't drink for taste anyway. I drink as a means to an end. :o

The first time I tried wine, I found that I liked the taste of the sweeter red wines a lot more, so you might want to try something along the lines of a Merlot or a Port or something. White Zinfandel (which is actually pink) is a toned down version of red Zinfandel wine, and it's pretty sweet with the least harsh flavor you can find.

I can't speak for what will or won't get you drunk. Whatever wine you pick, just try one glass and see what you think of it. You and your wife should probably watch one another to see how it affects you.

*takes off monocle*

I like wine. The problem is that it can get expensive if you buy the really good ones. But there are also tons of cheap ones if you can't really tell the difference like me.

Box Wine.

I do like Fortified Wine.

Like some Mad Dog 20/20. Brings out my inner wino.

haha I can tell the difference between boxed and bottled. pretty much anybody can. Box wine is just like Kool-Aid with a kick.

I have no idea what boxed wine is :)

I really am alcohol stupid. I should know more at 30 :(

boxed wine is exactly what it sounds like. Wine that comes in a box. Franzia is the most popular/recognized brand. It's ridiculously cheap and ridiculously sweet, which makes it popular among college students who drink gallons of it. If you've never tried wine, it might a a good way to start and work your way into less sweet kinds.

So round abouts what does wine cost? What price is concidered cheap and what's considered expensive?

I tend to go for the bottles that are about $15. You can get some for 8 or 9, though at a super market. Some of my rich friends' parents buy bottles upward of a hundred bucks.

Boxed wine is the breakfast of champions. You can even take it out of the box and carry the bag by itself in a large purse. Can you say class?

I remember the first time I had wine, I hated it. Even though my knowledge of wine doesn't go far at all, I've come to like it a lot especially if I'm having a glass or 2 with dinner.

Not too long ago I tried this sparkling wine, Jaume Serra Cristalino. It comes in red and white and it's quite delicious and inexpensive. It's like $7 at Safeway and tasty for people who don't really drink wine.

Go with something really classy like ... Boone's Farm.

Damn, it's been awhile. Now I need some Boone's Farm next weekend.

I've been really into gin lately. martinis, g&t, tom collins. It's such a classy liquor.

I been meaning to try out Scotch. Good Scotch.

But I don't got good Scotch money. :(

there are fairly good scotches for cheap. I paid 25 bucks for a bottle that I don't think I'll ever find one I like better. Bells Scotch Whiskey.

But if you drink scotch, you have to be like Denny Crane and Alan Shore. smoke a cigar with it.

actually, I take that back. nobody should ever buy swishers.

I say just splurge once on a good cigar. Nothing horrendously expensive, though. 10 bucks will get you a really solid cigar.
