In 1972, an ancient alien hypergate was discovered on the surface of the moon. Using this technology, humanity began migrating to Mars and settling there. After settlers discovered additional advanced technology, the Vers Empire was founded, which claimed Mars and its secrets for themselves. Later, the Vers Empire declared war on Earth, and in 1999, a battle on the Moon's surface caused the hypergate to explode, shattering the Moon and scattering remnants into a debris belt around the planet. Cut off from Mars, the remnants of the Vers Empire established several massive orbital space stations within the debris belt and a ceasefire was established. 15 years later, in 2014, an attack on the Vers princess during a peace mission causes the Empire to launch a new attack on Earth, this time determined to conquer it once and for all.[6][7]

I watched the first three episodes of this new show today, it's got very elegant art and a good plot and good writing. There was a development in the third episode which shocked me because it was extremely rational -- I simply don't expect that kind of logic in a popular science fiction story, and when the characters reasoned something out I was "wow, is this actually happening, damn!"

It's a twist on the classical alien invasion story in that the aliens are humans who left Earth tens of thousands of years ago, it's not yet clear how they left, I think they were transported off by another race.

Watched Episode 4 just now. It had some original fighting, and a better forging of the character bonds/partnerships, and the assassination conspiracy. It took me a few minutes to connect as this series has a lot of characters, which makes all shows hard to follow at first.

First sign of the Martian Emperor in this episode ... all is not well.

Good to see the humans being creative in battle tactics though.

Pity I'm the only forum poster watching this lol, Episode 7 was pretty good, I think it's the start of the Earth turning the tide.

I dig that they're paying attention to physics in this series.
