This is one of the best franchises in movie history. A series, that includes 4 completely different movies, yet, all conect to each other...
Alien, known as one of the scariest movies of all time. This one started it all. A huanted house in space, the broke many rules by having the main hero, or who we thought would be, die half way through. Then, it has a women develop into the strong hero we never saw coming. This movie is a cinamatic classic....
Aliens, a movie that is considered to be a more then worthy sequal, and considered by many, to be superior to that of Alien. The third movie by the legend Jim Cameron, brings back Ripley, and instead of rehasing, or remkaing that of Alien, it goes in a completely different direction, and establishes the Alien creature into the minds of all people, even those who haven't seen the movies.
Alien 3, the redheaded step child of the series. When it first came out, many people hated the movie, mostly due to it killing off many popular characters before the credits started rolling. Many wanted more action, but this movie tried to bring the series back to its roots. As the years past, the inner beauty of this movie has come out, and David Finchers first movie is now loved by many. The directors cut, takes this good movie, and makes it great by adding more character development, and adding a whole religious undertone that is spectacular.
Alien Resurection, a movie that wasn't loved, and was deemed uncalled for by many loyal fans. Even with it's many flaws, this movie is easily better then most movies, specially action/sci-fi/horror movies that come out today. Even if you find the plot convaluded, and the whole new born alien to be pathetic, you have to admit, the visuals are vibrant and jaw dropping...
These movies were all an esential part of my childhood, and the first two still remain in my top 5 movies of all time... Alien 3 directors cut is in my top 20.
I'd like this thread to be dedicated to how these films affected you, what you like, what you hate, and where you see this series going...
no talk of that crap that came out a few years ago.... the thing in the antartic that was cringe inducing... can 't even utter it's name.....
