no, you need to go back to the content of the word. it was suppose to mean "malaysia" and it's pronounce as "mer-lay-zia" and not "em-lay-zia"
I was talking about the "it starts with an 'M'" remark.
Yes, you would say "a Malaysia", not "an Malaysia", but given that Malaysia is a country anyways, I don't think anyone will be saying "a Malaysia" anytime soon.
