Could somebody please find me the accurate cost of mailing the weight of one or two figures from the USA to the UK? The prices retailers charge here regularly include a 200-300% mark up. I simply don't see why we should pay that- I'd happily spend the same money having my purchases shipped from the USA, if only because it will be less money in the pockets of greedy shop keepers.

    Many thanks.

it really depends on what they weigh. What figures would you be talking about?

I can tell you that the standart weight of one figure from Canada to the UK is right around $25.

    From the USA I dunno.

Thanks, that's helpful. I suppose, if the shipping is around $25/£15, then I would need to buy in bulk to make it worthwhile. But in the UK, where toys with a rrp of $7 are frequently sold for £15 ($27), it wouldn't take much to make a saving.

That's what sucks about not being American. There figs are likt $7.88 or something. Here they go for $14 retail. And that sucks cause right now tha Canadian Dollar is higher than it's been oin a while. It's at 90 cents right now. So why do I pay nearly double for a fig?

Actually, if the US RRP is $7, chances are the UK RRP will be about £7. So example, ML's usually retail for bout £7.99 (give or take a few pench). Usually, whatever you pay in dollars, we end up paying for in pounds. So we're getting shafted good & proper over here when it comes to things like figures!

    Yep.

    Right now, £7 = $13US, $14CA.

It's often the case that dollars are simply translated into pounds (adding 100% to the cost), but it depends on the retailer. Genuinely unscrupulous chains such as Forbidden Planet will think nothing of charging £15-£18 for a cheap, mass market figure.

Forbidden Plant take the piss most of the time with their prices. Before ML's hit the mass market over here (up to series 8) they were charging anything from £10 - £25 for an f'in figure! But now, thankfully, that at least 3 major retailers here now stock them, they've been forced to drop their prices alot. Well, apart from variants. They still charge the Earth for them! OH, & the new Wal-Mart exclusive wave. They've got had them in now (or will be soon) & are selling each figure for £15. Here's hoping Asda (Wal-Marts, UK sister company) pick the wave up. That'll learn 'em! :p

One certainly hopes so. I also hope Mattel DCSH appear in more shops of a less specialist nature. Alternatively, amazon should stock them.

There's no hope for smaller manufacturers like DC Direct, I suppose. :(
