American McGee's Alice

I remember a couple of years ago that they were making the game into film with SMG as Alice and Wes Craven at the helm. But I haven't heard much about the project. Question: Are they still making this or is this in "Development Hell" like many other video game films?

Apparently the filming was supposed to start in summer '06 and that didn't happen and there is no word on when it will start. SMG is still attached and has no future projects so it could be filmed this year for a 2008 release. The project all started back in 2000.


Mischa Barton has an "adult Alice" film coming out later this year.

I think American McGee's Alice is stuck in development hell and won't come out of it anytime soon. Pity, cause I loved the approach the videogame took to the story...
