The Amazing Spider-Man An Army of Lizards

Goddam IT department here in the office have blocked facebook and youtube at work! I can't see jack...

Could someone break down what this video is? I can't view : (

Just some girl talking about it. It's not set footage or anything like that.

I don't get why all the time some users make new topics about stuff we already discuss in another thread already. We've already had a pretty "deep" discussion about this in the news/vids/etc. topic. I feel these boards are overloaded with very specific, already discussed threads already.

It's kinda like the "Spider-Man Suit" thread and the "Spider-Man suit...Yay or nay?" thread. Why do we need both??? Meh...

^^ Overall, I feel the same. I've been noticing that this has been happening alot lately.

First I was like :(

Then I stayed that way.

It's a stupid idea.

Lizards reloaded? Cool... But they can't go too violent can they...

Hate on sentient Lizard all you want, but this might be stupid if it's a non-sentient Lizard turning others into reptiles. I'm a-ok with sentient Lizard doing it though, as long as it's creepy & not cheesy.

This might be stupid if a crazy lizard doesn't create a lizard army but it won't be stupid if a crazy lizard creates a lizard army?

Wut?

I hope I'm proven wrong, but conceptually if true (and that includes the basics of the story as being reported), this sounds just plain dumb to me.

I hope the battling Swat members with Lizard/beast like symptoms means he stumbles across some held hostage in the Lizard's Lair, and tries to free them before he realizes the Lizard has done "experiments gone wrong" on them (some in various stages of failed state.. some more than others) and frees them to only find out... He's not in Kansas anymore. Or.. all hell breaks loose when he frees what he thinks will be grateful captives only to find out otherwise.

Now.. that SMACKs against his Spider-Sense... (but one can ignore Spider Sense in the heat of the moment I guess, or misinterprupt it to be the actual Lizard lurking nearby and not realize it's the captives) so that approach could work, and could be a really cool scene.

I'm hoping.. NO army of Lizard Men though, and DEFINITELY no quick transformation.

BAH, can't find images of Lizard Men from the PS1 game
Idea seems goofy for a live action movie

The scene with the baby lizards from Godzilla (1998) keeps popping up in my head.

I think a lot of people are writing this off before giving it a fair shot. As many have already stated, it comes down to execution. Personally, I think this could be a bad ass/memorable scene.

I'm thinking of something along the lines of "The Lizard prey" comic arc. That created some very memorable art work. And I understand, what looks good in comics doesn't necessarily translate well onto screen.

However, imagine Spider-Man fighting six Lizard men at once. Flipping, avoiding their snapping jaws, webbing them up only to have them tear through it.

I for one am all for this idea.

I think an army of Lizards could work if they wrote Connors as a misguided idealist who wanted to create a means for humanity to survive nuclear war--a fear of nuclear war would've been instilled in Connors during his time in the army--while working on a means of regrowing his arm.

The lizard men could be failed test subjects that escaped or something.

If I were penning the movie, I would have it where the Lizard goes through stages of transformation. Similar to what was seen in the Spectacular Spider-Man episode. Maybe mixed with the MTV version? Not that Lizard design, just the part where his new arm is reptilian and he bandages it up to hide it.

So for instance, Connors looks normal and everything is fine. Then he begins to slowly grow scales, yadda yadda yadda. He then starts transforming into the Lizard. He hides down in the sewers so no one sees the monstrosity he has become. Maybe have a back story where there is an abandon subway station or something. This is where he sets up a small field lab to continue the experiments.

He is looking for a cure. In order though for this to work, he needs to take equipment from his top side laboratory. This could be what sparks the fight between Lizard and Spider-Man in the high school? Who knows. Maybe Peter walks into the lab and stumbles upon the Lizard stealing stuff. A fight breaks out to either silence Peter or Connor's regresses for a second.

Regardless the out burst causes attention to be drawn to The Lizard and it starts spreading. Captain Stacy has a task force go down into the sewers after him. The Lizard picks them off one by one and brings them back to his field lab to work on.

This is how the Lizard creatures are born.

Pretty cliched I suppose but hey, it works. :D

I figured they would take down information like this.
They never took down the full plot summary that got posted some time ago.

I'm just going to sit back and wait for more pictures and a trailer; then my mind will be made up. Everything I hear and my opinion will obviously won't amount to such a great effect without those sorts of credibilities; that being said, I can only pray for the bet for this Spiderman franchise. There are things that I like so far and things that I'm not too fond; this whole Army of Lizards idea, I'm in the middle.

Just as long as they don't give me a Lizard that looks like this, I'll be okay.
