Hey everyone!

Thanks to all of you who have supported and shown interest in The Standard over the past couple of years. That's still very much an active project, and the final two issues are slated for release this year. But I also have another new comic being published by ComixTribe, called And Then Emily Was Gone. It's a 5-issue horror miniseries, and will be ComixTribe's first monthly comic, with the first issue coming out in July. I'm writing it, and the art is done by the incredible Iain Laurie, a fantastic artist who has been a favourite of mine for years: getting to work with this amazing cult artist and hopefully give his stuff a mainstream worldwide platform is very exciting for me. We also have Megan Wilson on colors and Colin Bell on letters.

We've been fortunate to get some support and attention from talented folk within the comics industry, and so when we distribute worldwide through Diamond, we'll be doing 50/50 covers, one cover by Laurie, and the other by a guest cover artist.

Issue #2 variant by Riley Rossmo (Proof, Bedlam, Drumhellar):

To build up some awareness, I launched a blog just this week for the comic, called Visit Merksay. It's set within the world of the series, and will be used to build up the story leading into the comic. Here's the introductory post:

We ran a bunch of islander profiles last week, chronicling some of the oddball residents of Merksay, the remote community in the Scottish Orkney Islands where our heroes go in search of a missing girl...

Baubie Ballantyne, decrepit owner of the local bed & breakfast:

Tam Gutcher, the eerily ageless barman of ancient pub the Jaunty Tart:

Neil Tulloch, a caring father who is not all he seems:

Hey, I picked this up at last years Thought Bubble. It was bloody good. With some freaky as hell drawings. Loved it.
