Maybe more impact will be here.

Entertainment Weekly's current issue includes a short article suggesting that the "mother of all superhero movies is in development" at Warner Bros. featuring the Justice League of America. According to the article, titled "Comic Booked", in issue 888 (July 28, 2006) currently on newsstands:

EW has learned that Warner Bros. is developing what could be the greatest spandex story ever told. The concept doesn't only involve the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight, but their cohorts in the Justice League of America, too. The animated movie -- part of a larger superhero-related Warner media initiative -- is likely to be based upon a famous comic saga. One possibility: an adaptation of "Identity Crisis", a 2004 murder-mystery smash written by novelist Brad Meltzer that could be used to launch the likes of Green Arrow and The Flash into their own films, 'toon or otherwise.

EDIT:

I got confirmation. A JL movie is in the works. From what he's been hearing, it'll take place after Starcrossed, but befor JLU.

Hmm. A prequel to JLU. Its that project Timm and co. was trying to do for a while but was put on hold. From JL to JLU, something in me wants it to be like 52 where that built it from Infinite Crisis to One Year Later.

I wonder if it is.

EDIT2:

This has caused confusion as from another thread:

From The Kingdom:

Bruce timm is involved right? I mean brainac attacks sucked because they didnt use the damn people who made the series(and try to cover the crapness of the film by saying it has nothing to do with the timmverse).

Timm said he wasn't done in the DCU

Thats not all. FROM THE DC PANEL:

Levitz said.

He continued, saying that DC is looking to do a series of titles that will tell the character bits and stories that were important to fans, and will be working with the comic book creators on them. The first title will be the previously-leaked animated film version of Darwyn Cooke's The New Frontier. Cooke will work with Stan (JLU) Berkowitz on the film, with Cooke providing key art direction.

Another title in the series, Levitz continued, will be Superman/Doomsday, which will take the "essence" of the Superman/Doomsday story - and will be directed by Bruce Timm and written by Duane Capizzi, who's currently working on The Batman animated series.

The third title in the series will be an animated version of the classic story Teen Titans story “The Judas Contract”, written by Marv Wolfman. Tom DeStano (X-Men) will join Wolfman as co-writer and producer on the film.

It should be noted they won't be connected to the DCAU.

I read the same thing but it seems like there are some things left out.

Paul Levitz stood to make an announcement, and spoke about a new strategy for DC to move into direct-to-video animation.
Working with Warner Bros. Home Video and WB Animation, the company will launch a new line of direct-to-video DC animated movies that are being designed with DC Comics fans in mind, Levitz said.

"This is just the beginning," Levitz said. "We're sitting around and thinking of more...so send all your suggestions in."

"We're going to take the marquee-value characters that have love across the generations," Levitz said. "And use the stellar characters so that the parental generation will reach out and share it with their kids. We're looking at all the great stories, and cases where we can find the best stories of a long run."

Levitz also added that George Perez will be working on the animated Judas Contract as well, and that Bruce Timm will be overseeing all the animated films.

Clarifying the direct-to-video animated movies, DiDio said that the animation will be similar to the art in the comics, rather than working existing stories into currently existing animated styles for the DC animated properties.

Cause when you try to do a timm verse film without timm , you mess it up badly and have your stupidity show when your only defense is that it has nothing to do with what timm did except animation style.

The JLA movie IS New Frontier. This is what was shown:

damn thats nice. If that was actually the art of the film then i would fall out of my seat(but its probably not).

Man, none of thse are connected to the DCAU. :(
I am still waiting for The Near Apocalypse of '09. :( :( :(

I'll bet that New Fronteir will be done in Darwin Cooke's style on account that it appears that it could translate well onto an animated film

Looks like a Golden Age Cover.

Silver Age. SILVER AGE! The Golden Age did not have Barry Allen, the Martian Manhunter, Adam Strange, or Hal Jordan
