Bourdain passing still kinda feels alien to me, like loosing an actual friend. I still mourn him till this day.
a garbage network sitcom starring Bradley Cooper as Bourdain.
Nope. Bourdain was never a fine dining chef nor particularly serious about his craft. He basically graduated from the CIA and whereas those who wanted to be great followed up cooking school with various apprenticeships, especially to France, Bourdain succumbed to the offers of quick and easy offers of positions as head chefs by wannabe restauranteurs who didn't know any better. He then took that income and lived a wild young party life involving sex and drugs in 70s-80s NYC.Wasn't Burnt also based on Bourdain? I remember not liking it when I saw it.

When he got sober in the 90s, Bourdain got a journeyman position running a simple bistro putting out solid, but not sophisticated food, during which he wrote his book.
