The single-camera comedy centers on a philosophy scholar (It's Always Sunny star Glenn Howerton) who loses out on his dream job and goes to work as a high school Advanced Placement biology teacher. At his new job, he makes it clear he will not be teaching any biology. Realizing he has a room full of honor roll students at his disposal, he decides instead to use the kids to his own benefit.
Thank God we'll be getting at least SOME Howerton during Sunny's hiatus.

I do look forward to seeing how similar/dissimilar the character is to Dennis.

Glad the trailer leaked. Irritating that NBC only puts out trailers for the Fall premieres.

It seems like Howerton is kinda playing Dennis-lite, but honestly that's okay. Always Sunny won't be back until next year and it likely doesn't have many more seasons left so if I can get more Dennis(ish) in another show for the foreseeable future, I'm cool with that.

Probably pretty slim but I'm hopeful (if it's good).

what are the chances this lasts beyond 10 episodes?

Until actually seeing the numbers it gets, I don't see any reason to think it couldn't. I think the only network where I'm certain a midseason show will never make it is CBS. NBC has made it work from time to time.

It worked for Great News so far. No reason it can't happen again. Especially with the potential audience both Howerton and Oswalt can bring in. I'm a fan of both, so I'll be checking this out for sure.

First episode airs tonight. 9:30, I believe.

I thought it was great. I mean, his character's not much different than Dennis, but it doesn't really matter. More Dennis is nothing but a good thing. Looks like the next 2 episodes are available now on On Demand.

Season 2.

‘AP Bio’ Renewed for Season 2 at NBC, Comedies ‘Abby’s,’ ‘I Feel Bad’ Ordered to Series

“AP Bio” has been renewed for a second season at NBC.

The comedy series follows a philosophy scholar who loses out on his dream job and goes to work as a high school Advanced Placement biology teacher, but he makes it clear he will not be teaching any biology. Realizing he has a room full of honor roll students at his disposal, he decides instead to use the kids to his own benefit.

The series stars Glenn Howerton, Patton Oswalt, Lyric Lewis, Mary Sohn, Jean Villepique, Tom Bennett, Paula Pell, Charlie McCrackin, Jacob McCarthy, Aparna Brielle, Nick Peine, Allisyn Ashley Arm, Eddie Leavy, Jacob Houston, Sari Arambulo, Tucker Albrizzi and Spence Moore II

That's good to hear. I really enjoyed S1.

I really like this show. Happy to see it renewed

People seem to have a love hate thing with the pastel look of the show.

Season 2 starts 1/10/19, along with Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

This isn't a huge loss for me even though I liked the show. I still have B99 to look forward to.

So The Mick, The Cool Kids, and AP Bio all get axed. Well, at least Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson, and Charlie Day will always have Always Sunny. Though I'm sure Day and Rob McElhenney will hopefully last long with that Apple streaming series, but even streaming services you can never be to sure on when they'll pull the plug.

Charlie Day does a lot of movies so he's probably fine.

I loved the show, and thought it was hilarious, but whatever. I would be more mad if it got 2-3 more seasons before it was canceled. This only had 2 short seasons, and that was it. It was funny, I liked it, but it is what it is.
