Jessica Chastain’s ‘The Savant’ Sets Apple TV+ Release Date, Reveals First Images From Thriller Series

Apple TV+ has revealed the first images for its upcoming thriller series, “The Savant,” which will premiere its first two episodes worldwide on Sep. 26. The series stars and is executive produced by Jessica Chastain, who plays the eponymous character: an undercover investigator and mother who infiltrates hate groups online to detect and prevent domestic extremists before they act.

“The Savant” is based on a true story, adapted from a 2019 Cosmopolitan article titled “Is It Possible to Stop a Mass Shooting Before It Happens?” by Andrea Stanley.

In addition to Chastain and Asomugha, “The Savant” stars Cole Doman, Jordana Spiro, Trinity Lee Shirley and Toussaint Francois Battiste. Pablo Schreiber will also make a guest appearance. Behind the camera, Kelly Carmichael, Alan Poul, Melissa James Gibson, Matthew Heineman, David Levine and Garrett Kemble join Chastain as executive producers. Originating at Fifth Season, “The Savant” was developed with Freckle Films and Anonymous Content before landing at Apple TV.

Heineman will direct all eight episodes of the series. Following the first two episodes’ global premiere on Sep. 26, Apple TV will release a new episode every Friday through Nov. 7.
