The only thing scarier than a plane crash is a plane crash full of violent inmates. The Last Frontier premieres October 10 on Apple TV+ https:/apple.co/TheLastFrontierThe Last Frontier follows Frank Remnick (Clarke), the lone U.S. marshal in charge of the quiet, rugged barrens of Alaska. Remnick’s jurisdiction is turned upside-down when a prison transport plane crashes in the remote wilderness, setting free dozens of violent inmates. Tasked with protecting the town he’s vowed to keep safe, he begins to suspect the crash wasn’t an accident, but the first step of a well-crafted plan with far-reaching and devastating implications.

In addition to Clarke, the ensemble cast includes Dominic Cooper (“The Gold”), Haley Bennett (“The Magnificent Seven”), Simone Kessell (“Yellowjackets”), Dallas Goldtooth (“Reservation Dogs”), and Tait Blum (“For All Mankind”), with Academy Award Nominee and multi-Emmy winner Alfre Woodard (“Clemency”).Hailing from Apple Studios, The Last Frontier is executive produced by Bokenkamp and D’Ovidio, who also serve as writers, alongside Clarke, Laura Benson (“The Big C”), Glenn Kessler (“Bloodlines”), Albert Kim (“Nikita”), and series episodic director Sam Hargrave (“Extraction”).

I love the look of this, great setting, an intriguing two hander premise, an intriguing looking villain and some big action. 👍

I'm assuming since this is set in Alaska it was actually filmed in Canada. My state can never catch a break.

'From the Creator of The Blacklist'

Yeah it really does look like it

Watching this show as an Alaskan must be how historians feel watching movies set in the past. All of the little inaccuracies rips me right out of watching it. Seeing what is meant to be my high school is particularly jarring. None of the geography makes sense.

Supposedly the plane left Eielson AFB, yet somehow it ended up north of Fairbanks. And based on how it crashed it was flying west. However, Eielson is south of Fairbanks, and it's trajectory would mean that it was coming from Canada. There's nothing north of Fairbanks worth flying to, either, and the lower 48 are SE of Alaska.

Also, there are no US Marshals based in Fairbanks. Their only office is in Anchorage, 300 miles away.

Production wise'? yeah you can see where they are putting the money and it looks good, but 'writing', this does not feel like an 'Apple TV' show it just feels like another standard network show that airs weeknights,on the plus side side this is only 10 episodes so fewer filler episodes.

Not surprised it felt like watching the worst parts of The Blacklist

Filming in Alaska is probably crazy expensive.

Not shocked it was cancelled as it had all the worst elements of The Blacklist.
The show started strong but went off the rails quick.

The antagonist had far too much plot armour.

Two of the lead characters had weak chemistry which meant the romantic relationship story was dull.

The lead character giving speeches about the lower 48 and how we do things in Alaska got old real fast.

Netflix show untamed was the better Aussie as American law enforcement with a dead kid in the frontier/wilderness thriller show
