Its even suggested that rey in defeating kylo ren was sorely tempted to kill him thus tempted by the darkside in that moment.

anger and fear leads to the darkside anakin had those in abundance he COMPLETED the turn when he capped dooku but he was already dancing on the edge...you could say that when he killed all those sand people who killed his mother he was already on the dark side he just didn't acknowledge it.

the same with Luke when he cut vader's hand off...

Its like this. Jedi techniques are to Karate and Aikido (defensive) as Dark Side techniques are to Kung Fu and Ninjutsu (offensive). Both sides provide their own unique abilities. Practitioners of both arts borrow techniques from the other side.

Examples:

Luke uses a "Force choke" - a Dark Side technique.

Kylo Ren employs a "Force Stasis" - a Jedi technique.

yet we've seen two examples of 1 sith slaughtering or orchestrating the slaughter of many jedi. And when a jedi wins in head to head fights its usually because they tap into the same level of aggressiveness that the sith tap into.

The Jedi do have power in numbers. I don't disagree with OP. One on one and pound for pound (so to speak) i don't see Jedi often beating Sith.

That's why Maul could take on Obi Wan and Qui Gon, Dooku could handle Obi Wan and Anakin, Kylo Ren was able to take on both Finn and Rey after having received a blaster bolt to the gut, so on. Also, important to note Luke's victory over Vader/Sidious had to be a symbolic one. He was never gonna be able to take on both of them himself (the way a sith may have been able to against two jedi).

The other point is that that's how the sith work. Quality over quantity. Two there can be, no more, no less. Culling of the herd until they find the strongest. One to embody the power, the other to crave it. Until the time comes when they can surpass the master and become even stronger.

Sith do not show restraint the way jedi do. Which can be seen as a weakness but also a strength.

Still though, this all holds up against Yoda's wisdom:

Because over time light side forces will build and overcome the darkness. Until such time that someone like Palpatine can re-tip the scales. One big balancing act. Light and dark.

Rey was untrained, and Finn was a stormtrooper. Given how quickly Rey picked it up (along with the Jedi mind trick, firing a blaster, etc.), it really looks like she's the most powerful force user (in terms of potential) in any of the movies. I have my suspicions that

Don't forget all those Jedi dying like wimps during Order 66. With all the Jedi just walking away into exile it seems the Jedi's weakness is surrendering.
