I bought the first Doom game and was hand feed with those delightful shooters yet I have no desire for the military. I have no problem killing Germans in Call of Duty 3 though.

There's simply too much evidence to ignore the existance of aliens it's like evolution.

Well most conspiracy theories go back to the government. They always conspire to shape events in their favor. 9/11 let them enable many things that are unconstitutional. Jfk was shot by Lyndon Johnson, he set up the trip and wanted to get involved in Vietnam. Reagen set up missions in south america so that he could set up dicators there. They all gained something in return for something bad happening. Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were events that had to happen so the US could do as start or join a war.

This one is just stupid. John Edwards is not helping people, you're absolutely right. He's employing the use of truisms. For example he'll take a common name of letter, and then make obvious statements to get the subject to review information from which he can pull more truisms from.

I'll give you an example.
I'm sensing a Bobby or Benjamin from over here (of course the likelyhood that someone with that name or close to that name is fairly high).

(Now judging by his age we'd be able to tell what relative most recently died. For example, most people over 40 have lost one parent and both sets of grandparents. So if he sense a "father figure" it's likely he'll be right in the assertion of their death. The better you get at this the better you get at hiding the fact that you are doing this....but in fact it is the art of a con artist).

I'll give you another example.
I was talking to this gorgeous chick the other day and she was talking about an art seminar she was taking and I said "You know you're very pretty, but I get the sense deep down inside you want to be seen for something more". And of course she lit up so I said "you strike me as very imaginative and creative"...of course again...similar response.

Now of course all I did was make an obvious statement, but of course I word it in a way that makes it sound like an insight...which it isn't.

First off Lyndon Baines Johnson hated Vietnam, and did not want to be a part of it. period. But due to things Kennedy set up in his Presidency he was forced into that position...however I don't rule out the Governments involved in the assassination, just LBJs.

That said. When I said conspiracies. I meant some people do equate the word Conspiracy with "crazy idea", I don't. I don't even equate the word with "bad". You can conspire to throw a birthday party. A Conspiracy is simply something done without the knowledge of the person or persons it affects, or better put an act by which knowledge is willfully withheld from persons involved or affected.

I also don't believe in the "it all ties back to the Government". You'd need a vastly powerful, vastly efficient Government to pull off most of these conspiracies...as South Park noted (and very wisely) a Government that controlled everything. Reagan was a dick, and I never liked him...however some of his accusations are more or less absurd. Our Government checks itself, not just within our constitution but also with it's own ambition; selfishness. It's in every politicians self interest to disable any and all opponents to power. Obama is as much a threat to Hilary as McCain is...despite political affiliation.

Also what I also hate about conspiracies is the President is often painted as the mastermind while lesser Government entities are let off, mostly from lack of knowledge on the part of the accusers. Conspiracies are far FAR more likely to be carried out by niche' groups or subgroups of Government who are not as visible in the public. If anything, if everyone of these conspiracies was proven true tomorrow, you'd find the President was some patsie; totally oblivious to the conspiracies themselves. This is mostly due to the fact that Nixon committed Watergate, and so now whenever conspiracies are discussed the Presidents name is the most likely to come up...

And that's the real reason for Roswell, they were doing testing of top secret advanced air craft. By making some folk believe they were seeing UFO's they hoped that other governments would ignore the area and the sightings.

I do believe aliens exist. I just don't believe they would bother coming close enough to the Earth to crash on it. They would send small probes the size of bees/wasps as cameras to look at us and sting us to take samples (if they wanted them). They would listen in on our radio/television transmissions, IF they bothered with us at all. Far more likely, once they saw a war like society forming on this planet they'ld leave us to our own devices and check up every few 100 years to see if we'ld actually managed to advance out of the warrior stage.

The whole "war on drugs" thing from any president is fishy.

It's insane that there are higher penalties for drug related offenses or drug trafficking offenses than there are for sexual assault crimes.
