Frank Miller

Paul Pope

Lee Bermejo

Matt Wagner

- And Eduardo Russo, plus a few others.


But, other than them, who else? I'm interested.

Realistic as in 'a man in a suit;' where they actually give some form of definition to the suit itself - seams, and stuff like that.

So, I guess the latter.

Don't know why you named Miller & Wagner, they are great artists but far from realistic. There has to be at least some sort of anatomy correct visible.

No I agree, Miller and Mazuchelli especially always gave the sense of the man beneath the suit.

Right, Miller's Golden Age influenced Batman and especially Wagner's thin Batman with the giant arm here is not an anatomy correct human being in the least.

David Mazzucchelli is pretty realistic in Year One, Neal Adams, Brian Bolland and Alex Ross is as photo realistic as it gets in comic books.

Kelley Jones.

Kelley Jones is one of the most German expressionistic exaggerated Batman artists, along with Dave McKean and Bill Sienkiewicz and Simon Bisely, all favourites of mine. I also enjoy the photo realistic artists too. One of the strengths of the medium is the varied artists which show the many aspects of Batman.

Agreed with that. I like Jim Lee because his art is so real, it could happen, whereas Tim Sale is so out there, so expressionistic it doesn't feel right.

However that, I guess, is the great comic book versus realism debate, that is best left for another day!

i liked what don kramer did during his run in detective, that looked pretty real as oppose to that guy on tec now

Perez is awesome. His Wonder Woman reboot is the best thing ever happened to her, since Lynda Carter.

gah! no it's not...look at his chest, look at how is arm is bent in a crazy, impossible way...it's terrible. not as bad as the one above, but thats like saying "well, torture isnt bad, but only in comparison to death."
