How does one "act" like a nerd or geek?

Going on pedantic rants. Not recognizing when people 'just don't care'. Getting caught up in extremely esoteric subjects. Having waaayyy too many Star Wars toys on display. Those sorts of things. Sure you have sports fans that does things like that, but it seems much more common in comic fans or Star Wars fans.
