Astronomers confirm distant planet meets requirements to sustain human life

Today's generation, the first thing the first person will say when they step on that planet is

FIRST!

A confirmed life sustaining planet orbiting a red sun.......

Europa (Jupiters moon) is thought to be able to have a form a form of life poosible. Likewise with Mars vast underground caves.

I propose we send a family of scientists, a handsome young pilot, and a menacing old man to that planet. Nothing could possibly go wrong on the way there.

Perhaps by the time people get there humanity will be over their petty differences.:o

It will take like 100,000 years for us to get to this planet at our current rate of speed. Even if we ever achieved light speed, it would take 20 years.

Considering we haven't destroyed any planet yet, probably a loooooong time.

300,000 years for us to reach it with current technology? Um, let's get back to colonizing the moon and Mars.

I love how people think they can define what "requirements" are needed for life, as if there is one standard.

On our own planet there are so many different life forms that live in so many various environments, many that humans say couldn't "sustain life", but do anyways. Yet we think that there isn't some species out there, in this infinite universe that we know so little about, that couldn't survive on planets that we deem "uninhabitable"?

I laugh at the arrogance of the people who think they so much.

Danger! Will Robinson Danger!

Considering our present rocket technology would make the trip around 300000 years we might want to let our great-great-great grandchildren worry about this one and let us focus on whats left of our world :P

Maybe we will eventually create a ship the folds space to get to A to B then end up like Sam Neill in Event Horizon.
