What would you have people do?

People will find other things to justify radical violence for.

As long as I live, I will never understand why anyone thinks blowing up innocent people will help their cause. Now granted, I recognize the US is doing the same with our drone attacks, and I don't agree with that either.

It's a very skewed way to make a point. Basically, "any innocent blood is on your hands" type of deal.

Two Belgian nuclear power plants have been evacuated..scary stuff.

I'm from the Netherlands so I'm used to cracking jokes at the expense of Belgium... but this ain't nothing to joke about.

This is a really sad situation and something needs to be done about it, regardless of who it pisses off.

What a terrible heartbreaking crime committed by horrible people. Unfortunately America's misadventures around the world has caused even more damage, created even more mayhem. Well I am already cynical when it comes to humanity, I can't get anymore cynical.

America is hardly alone in this. Belgium, the UK, Germany, France, Russia, the Netherlands and a host of other countries have also played their part in disrupting the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and all the other so-called hotspots. There's a reason they are targeting a lot of European countries too. The US is just the latest in a string of countries to totally muck around in there.

At some point, you've got to do whatever needs doing against these people. It goes without saying that whatever their M.O., this is unacceptable.

Another terrible tragedy.

I wonder with the arrest of in Brussels of the Paris masterminds was this a retaliation or was going to be planned anyways.

You seem to have forgotten the main two. Saudi Arabia and Iran.

Yeah, I think if we were the bane of their existence they'd be going in on us right now, unless they think we're just too much of a loose cannon to dare attack directly and are going for more "pacifist" places.

They are in that "host of other countries" part because they are not European or North American and therefore not as "important" to the mindset of most of the posters on the forums when it comes to who is at fault for meddling in the Middle East states.

They have definitely contributed a huge amount of the problems over the years. Iran is not an Arab state (they are descended from the Persians) and as I am told almost as hated by Arabians as Isreal is. There has been a lot of strife between them and everyone else in the area for centuries.

Saudi Arabia of course holds large sway in the area and their form of Islam is a minority belief compared to the other countries and they have made their won contribution to the instability.

Anyways my point was that saying this is because of the United States is a far too simplistic finger-pointing blame game. Africa, the Middle East, the South East, they all have had Europe and North America making already troubled areas even more troubled and have been for centuries.
