I absolutely love the old "pin-up" art that used to be so prevalent. They were beautifully done paintings. Here is one by Gaddon Sundblom.

Years ago.......Many many calendars and advertising posters and full page artwork in magazines were paintings of beautiful women having their dresses blown by a gust of wind, caught on a nail, or other such situations as to show their legs/stockings/underwear....but in a non pornographic or too revealing way. They were then cut out and "pinned up" in garages, basements, and teen's bedrooms everywhere.

Thanks for that. It's funny, I knew exactly the kind of art that would be known as pin up art, but didn't know what the name referred to - pin up as in that the women were "pin up girls" (although I guess my use of the term actually originates from your explanation anyway which would have made it more confusing!), or just pin up as in the images were pinned up. Now I know :up::cwink:
 
COKE hired many great artists to paint their ads. Here is one by Gerald Leake (1885 – 1975)
