Who are the best developed characters in todays drama television?

Some of mine that comes to mind:

1. Walter White (Breaking Bad) - Played by Bryan Cranston
2. Don Draper (Mad Men) - Played by Jon Hamm
3. Gregory House (House M.D) - Played by Hugh Laurie

Walter White was the name that instantly sprung to mind when reading this thread title. Best developed character in television, easy.

Those are all great choices. Personally I also like Patrick Jane, and Charlie Crews.

While I know the show has only had one season so far, Constance Langdon(American Horror Story - played by Jessica Lange) is one of the best characters not only this past season of television, but in the television world as a whole.

I definitely agree with Draper and White. No one tops AMC in terms of character development these days. I also agree with Majik about Constance from AHS. She was by far the best thing about that show this season. I would also add:

Patty Hewes (Damages) - Played by Glenn Close
Lydia Adams (Southland) - Played by Regina King
John Cooper (Southland) - Played by Michael Cudlitz
Tyrion Lannister (Game of Thrones) - Played by Peter Dinklage

Before this season, I would have included Dexter, but this latest season took the characters of that show in such WTF directions, I just can't bring myself to include it.
