The Simpsons would be my 2nd. I'd rank Friends in top 10 somewhere, as well as Cheers

Community, 30 Rock, Atlanta, It's always Sunny, Arrested Development, Scrubs, Bobs Burgers are all the series that come close of the 21st century so far, but still no cigar.

I’d rank these three at the top due to the incredible characters they had. Barney Fife, Dr Johnny Fever, “The Big Guy,” George Castanza. These were among the best characters ever created.

For family stories I’d go with Leave it to Beaver and Cosby Show. I’m amazed at how as a kid I related so well to those kids in those shows but now as a parent I totally relate to the parents. That’s good writing.

In terms of UK, I would, (if it can be called a sitcom) say Spaced.

Everybody Loves Raymond.

Never cared for Seinfeld, but I will give it due for being at the top. Also have a softspot for Home Improvement, absolutely loved that series.

Personal preference aside, I'd say that objectively the 'Best' UK sitcoms are (in no particular order):

1. Only Fools and Horses
2. Dad's Army
3. Fawlty Towers
4. The Office
5. Blackadder
