I have taken the top 32 grossing movies of 2007 and pitted them against one another in a mega throwdown tournament for you the voters.

LETS GET IT ON!!!

1. SPIDERMAN 3($336,530,303)

VS.

32. BEOWULF($81,306,275)

______________________________________________
2. SHREK THE THIRD($322,719,944)

VS.

31. BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA($82,272,442)

______________________________________________
3. TRANSFORMERS($313,246,193)

VS.

30. THE GAME PLAN($89,256,536)

Uhm, the box office should not be used for this. I've only seen half the movies and only SM3 and Beowulf I somewhat liked. But it's just my opinion so, okay:

1. Spider-Man 3
2. Didn't see Teribithia and didn't like Shrek the Third so absolve
3. Same except only saw Transformers, so absolve.

I think he's going with ones that most people around here will have seen so we get more votes and then vote for which you like the best out of those. I'm fine with the system.

Anyways...

1) Spider-Man 3
2) Bridge to Terabithia
3) Transformers

Haha, what a list for best movie of 2007.

-Spider-Man 3 is overrated. The script was horribly written, the entire film is based off of one big coincidence, there was absolutely no character development(which there should have been because like I state in the Beowulf mini-view that should be the key thing in the movie itself), the villain known as Venom is an un-inspired piece of doo-doo ass-crap because his alter-ego(Eddie Brock Jr.) doesn't get enough screentime, the action sequences were too short and too sloppy, and the list really just goes on and on. The film is just clumsy and it can't seem to even be able to stand on it's own two feet.

-Shrek the Third is a crap-ass film.

-The Game Plan is horrid movie which can only be suitable for minor youths who haven't already seen this garbage before.

-Transformers is action packed and explosive... nothing more; anyways, it's a Micheal Bay flick so there's obviously going to be no character, no story, nothing but awe-inspiring action sequences and witty humour. If you like that kind of stuff then you'll certainly love this film.

-Bridge to Terabithia... I haven't even seen this film.

-Beowulf, I enjoyed it but I can understand how it can leave some audience members po'd because there's really no character and from a movie where the title is the name of a certain character then you should expect it to have good character. But aside from that the voice overs were well done, the CGI was incredible, and the action sequences were mind-blowing; and I mean they were awesome.

How many of these threads are we going to have in here?

Yeah, this is probably the 5th one.

Regardless of your cute, little overview of the movies the bottom line is these movies made the most money. It doesn't matter how much was spent making it or what yours or mines opinion is. When it all boils down, 'the best horse earns the most money' - if you get my drift. It's not anyones fault that you were too 'mentally challenged' at the time to comprehend Spiderman 3.Come on man, Spiderman 3 IS very good.

Let's say you have two dogs. One is a pure breed that you spent $250 on and the other is a mutt that you were given for free. Now, the mutt is more playful and lovable and fun than the pure breed. The mutt is always wagging it's tale and wanting to play. EVERYBODY just loves the little mutt and pretty much ignores the stuck up pure breed. Most people go as far too say that they like the little, cheap mutt more than the pure breed. We all know though, the pure breed CAN make you the most money and IS the better dog. Hence we can determine that the 32 movies that made the most $$$ ARE the best of 2007 whether you like it or not.

Bottomline, making movies is a business and in business, and life in general, money earned = quality. If a movie makes enough money to be placed in the top 32 it is a pretty safe bet that it is a high quality movies. Sure, it's possible Beowulf is better than Spiderman 3 but I don't think Spiderman 3 is as bad as you said. All you have to do is vote, your unintelligible synopsis is not necessary Roger Ebert.

Oh well, don't need to get all peachy over Spider-Man 3. And anyhow, it's just my opinion. But I still don't understand why he called this thread 'Best Movie of 2007' because there were alot better movie available then these sub-par flicks like: No Country For Old Men, Eastern Promises, Juno, etc. And alot of these great flicks didn't make to much in the box-office but they're still great movies. The best of 2007 doesn't just come from $$$ as you put it, it comes from how people personally felt about these flicks and overall, audiences are split up over all of these flicks(look on Rotten Tomatoes for proof).

If $$$ didn't matter significantly it would not have existed as long as it has, which by my calculations is roughly - FOREVER! You can go ahead and think it doesn't matter, that's cool. You can cruise around in your VW bug, eating off the dollar menu, and debating with yourself how Eastern Promises is the best movie of 2007. Meanwhile, I'll trust the $$$ while cruising in my Lexxus to get surf-and-turf and accept that one of the top 32 grossing movies is the best, one of the top 10 is most likely.

Beowulf
Shrek the Third
Transformers

Spiderman 3
Shrek the Third
Transformers

1) Spider-Man 3

3) Transformers

Transformers. Didn't see Beowulf, not a big Shrek fan, and Spidey 3 greatly disappointed me.

I think people are missing the idea. This is a head-to-head tournament. Meaning there will be 16 winners in round one and in this particular bracket there will be three.

Again, the matches are:

Spiderman 3 vs. Beowulf
Shrek the Turd vs. Bridge to Terabithia
Transformers vs. The Game Plan

Do you have some sorta problem with me, jerk-ass?

You so stole my Shrek the Turd line:o

My votes:
Spiderman 3(GOOD but so many wasted opportunities with it)
Shrek the Third(**** but didn't see Bridge)
Transformers(Best movie of 2007)
