Okay, this is pretty much the poll for minis, maxis, graphic novels, and the lot. Y'know, a small number of issues that aren't a part of a long running series, and pretty much make for a stand alone story. My nominations would be...

The Ultimates (yeah, it's an iffy pick even by my standards, but, truthfully, the Ultimate series has been very miniseries-ish)
The Long Halloween
The Dark Knight Returns
Sin City: The Hard Goodbye
Superman: Red Son
Batman and the Monster Men
Lex Luthor: Man of Steel

Spider-Man: Blue
Superman Birthright
Daredevil: Yellow
Hulk: Gray
Batman: Dark Victory
All Star Superman

Because my taste is different than yours?

What are you? A communist?

I find it to be absolute drivel.

The hell?

You can also list more than one, you know.

Off the top of my head:

Girls
- Brilliantly creepy with unusually smart dialogue.
Ares - Excellent all around.
Avengers Forever - The ultimate Avengers story. I seem to reread this at least once a year.
Thor: Blood Oath - The combination of Oeming and Kolins kills.
NYX - A lot of people hate this, but I liked it enough to include it. I thought it was a fairly ballsy story for Marvel to put out.
DEMO - Brian Wood's masterpiece. Until LOCAL concludes, that is...
Dr. Strange: The Oath - Probably the best Strange story that I've ever read.
Marvels - It's still one of the best things Marvel has ever produced.
Annihilation - Damn near flawless miniseries.
The Killer - It's still running, but it's currently one of the best things I've read all year.
The Invisibles - Crazy, crazy, crazy good.
Death: The High Cost of Living - Excellent.

There's more, and when I think of them, I'll post them.

Watchmen
Spider-Man:Blue
Secret Wars (if it counts)
Marvels
Maus

Too many big words? ;)
From what I've read, I've not been impressed with Moore's writing in the least, actually. It seems as though he always goes for the subtle point - moral - that's always neatly tucked into the subtext of his books. And I've just never been a fan of that kind of writing. I prefer writing to be...direct. Concise. If it wants to make a point, make it and move on, and not spend x-amount of pages and issues trying to show it - illustrate it - rather than simply saying it.

That's how I see it.

I might not like Citizen Kane or Gone With the Wind, but I understand their signifigance to cinema and can respect their acclaim. To pass of Watchmen without even finishing it, and call it "drivel" is a little dumb, no?
