So who ranks among your top all-time favorite movie/TV/fiction spies??

There are so many choices, from the obvious like Bond or Black Widow, to charming buffoons like Chuck, Wallace Ritchie, or Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd in Spies Like Us, to more silent Badass-types like Jason Bourne or Agent Carter's Dottie Underwood.

I'll have the poll going, and I encourage everybody to post a top 5 too!

Mine:
5. Sarah Walker- Chuck
4. Natasha Romanoff- Avengers
3. Michael Westen- Burn Notice
2. Ethan Hunt- Mission Impossible
1. James Bond- obv

I tried not to pick Bond, too cliched and there were a lot of bad Bond flicks, but I just couldn't not put him at number 1

Lol, you forgot George Smiley. All the rest of these super-heroes would be buried under the red tape of their respective departments, whereas Smiley knows how to negotiate through all that BS to get what he wants done. And how could you mention a supporting character from Agent Carter without mentioning Agent Carter herself?

My top 5:

1) George Smiley
2) Peggy Carter
3) Jason Bourne
4) Jack Bauer
5) Ethan Hunt

not familiar with Smiley, I'll have to look into the character

and Carter, yeah, I spaced and forgot her
Think it's because she's been such a dumbass on her show most of the time that I can hardly consider her a spy, lol

Well, the poll is for fictional spies, but you can list a real one if you like

if you can, list a summary or a link to info about their life so we know who they are/what they did
I'm always interested to learn about stuff like that

Sadly no, that's why you're not on the list.
lol

Archer :007

And Snape, too. Double agent extraordinaire!

The problem with nominating real ones is this:
How can they be any good if it is known they are spies?

I'm a big fan of the 3 B's.

Bond, Bourne and Bauer.

Bauer and Bourne aren't spies. One's a special agent, the other's an assassin.

Only Bond is an actual spy.

Still, I think I'd go with Bourne just barely over Bauer.

Black Spy, ... no White Spy! I cant choose.

Also got to give it up for the original rodent secret agents...

I read Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy a year ago.

Bond is a crap spy. Whens the last time he went a month without destroying everything and actually being quiet? :p

I wonder what spy films look like from different parts of the world? We've seen tons of British and American ones.

I saw a Hong Kong/South Korean spy film called Helios recently and it was amazing
