Early 90's or mid 90's or late 90's?

Snipes wanted the role but he looked way old in the 90's whereas Chadwick looks late 20's despite being 41.

For sure in the 90's I think Bassett could have easily played Nakia.

Bassett would have played Okoye. Vivica Fox would have played Nakia. Remember how ripped Bassett was when she played Tina Turner.

I could actually see John Singleton of Boyz in the Hood directing it back in the day.

In fact, I think he wanted to make a Black Panther film in the 90s but back then, what Marvel films their were ,were pretty much a joke, and the prospects of bringing several of the characters to the big screen were dim.

I love me some Spike Lee but I would never want to see "Black Panther" a Spike Lee joint. The Hughes Brothers were pretty great when they were together. They did The Book of Eli and that movie had great atmosphere.

Same age but I'd reckon Nia looked slightly older than Regina. At least, NIA can pull off sultry much better.

Vivica Fox would have worked of course, but she might have been far too HOT for the role.

If it was made in the 90's for sure it'd have been Spike's. Or the Hughes. Singleton was also an option. Heck even Carl Franklin.
