The last few years have been filled with some very heavy hearted realizations about a lot of people.

It especially hurts when you realize that family or people that you consider as friends are part of this group.

How is this seven possible? I would have thought that there'd be a huge margin against Trump.

Trump bottoms out at 42%.

42% of the country love his brand of far right populism and would support him if he torched the constitution on national telivision.

Thankfully he needs more than that to comfortably win the election but it's still scary af that many American voters are devoted to neofascism or casual racism.

I usually respect the police and wanted to be one but all of these types of video gives me so many emotions. The angry and disappointed feels!

Unfortunately there are still a lot of self centered people out there that can see a man be murdered on camera in the streets and still not be moved because it didn't happen to them or their own love ones.

It's been said before that man Trump supporters are like cult members. There are people will support him and explain away bad choice he makes even when it goes against everything people claim America stands for.

Yeah, it would take something big to get him to speak out.

I have a feeling many members of the American military feel uneasy about being put into a situation in which they will be ordered to draw their weapons on on their fellow citizens.

Apparently one of the officers was a rookie who had only been on the streets for six days. The rookie supposedly asked Chauvin to take his knee off Floyd's neck twice. If that is true then it certainly looks like Chauvin was intent on killing or causing serious harm to Floyd.

I think it's safe to say the vast majority of protest were peaceful today.

Either the riots naturally burned out, people are satisfied the four other cops were charged or word is circulating that martial law plays right into the white nationalist fascist playbook.

Probably all three.

I am starting to get pretty worried. The protests aren't SO bad here.... but there are riots they aren't talking about and they are moving north through Roswell and its like its coming my way at the lake. It's strange how it's spreading just like covid smh.

Either the riots naturally burned out, people are satisfied the four other cops were charged or word is circulating that martial law plays right into the white nationalist fascist playbook.

Probably all three.

Hopefully it continues that way. If things had continued to escalate, I fear it'd have really resulted in a Civil War 2.0

Yeah that's what white nationalist were hoping for but historically riots burn out after few days. The LA riots were terrible but lasted just a week.

Most people don't want a civil war. Extremist who act out will quickly be put down. Which is why they've relied on the lone wolf strategy for so long. An organized nationwide attack isn't feasible. Even white supremacist are divided when to play their ace. Because the first few who pull the trigger will be treated like terrorist by most the country and they know it.

A race war is the white supremacist dream scenario. A central part of their ideology is that there will be a race war. It's like jihadists and their holy war of Muslims vs non-believers that Isis was peddling.

Black people don't want some genocidal war though. Property is being destroyed but there isn't any mass murderers like the red summer of 1919 when race conflicts erupted across America.

Most sane people want peace and equality.
Bigots want division and conflict.

The rock is conservative but probably not right wing enough for the current GOP who have been moving further and further to the right (especially under Trump).
