Bratz movie fallout: Avi Arad comments

From the press:

The blogosphere is littered with references to the dolls as tarts or prostitutes.

"It is worrisome when dolls designed specifically for 4- to 8-year-olds are associated with an objectified adult sexuality."

"What bothers me is that they give off an aggressive attitude. And why do they have to be sexy?" said the mother from Framingham, Mass. "The heels, and the low-rise jeans — it's too much."

Avi's comments:

Yes, it's true that I do suck ass, the Bratz movie bombed because it sucked ass too. Yes, it's all true. I also recommended MSJ to direct Ghost Rider.

lol ok that last one is fake, but avi didn't mention anything about the movie's fallout.

the movie isnt even out till this weekend is it?

Reminds me of the furor in the late 80's/early 90's about Ninja Turtles being too violent and encouraging young boys to violence. You can't stop boys being intrested in fighting, and you can't stop girls being intrested in fashion, all of which would happen without Ninja Turtles or Bratz.

Up next on "To Catch A Predator", this guy...

There was much to choose from: Bratz Babyz. Bratz Kidz. Fashion Pixiez. Magic Hair. Bratz Spiderman 3. Bratz Shrek. The Bratz RC cruiser. Alarm clocks, CDs, video games. "I love it!" one girl cried, actually jumping for joy. "Look at all the makeup!"

.....

Only the turtles don't dress up like prostitutes, which is why the Bratz get a bad rap all the time.

It reminds me of an argument I had with a friend about 10 years ago regarding the Spice Girls and their definition of "girl power." :whatever:

Bratz the move will....Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew....KABLAM!

How much did the movie cost?

No disrespect to Arad, but I mean, I think this movie pretty well punctuates his background and how creative he truly is.

I mean it's pretty simple. The guy is a toy guy. He's a merchandise guy. That's where he came from. Arad really isn't a storyteller producer or a storyteller executive.

It made only 1.7 million opening day. I smell a big ****ty flop.

Yes as I said...BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW...KABLAM!

Man, it's like High School Musical...except worse, if that's possible.

I have to see this film with my sister this week. :(

I swear watching the TV spot for this bomb made my IQ drop...literally.

"Oh like come on, like so don't totally be like that, uh yeah... best movie like uh ever, laterz!"

- An idiot teenage Bratz.

Happy it's bombing. :)

Ain't nothing wrong with how the Bratz dressed in the film.
I enjoy eye candy.
