Enough Already!!!

Zombies. Every few months, we seem to have some new Zombie book popping up...and, even Marvel has taken their interesting Marvel Zombie's idea and run it into the ground. To focus on this, the Marvel Zombies were so good when introduced in Ultimate Fantastic Four...and, even somewhat nice in their first miniseries (although, the ending was rather lame, I thought). But, Army Of Darkness/Marvel Zombies really turned it all into a big joke, and their appearance in Black Panther is just as bad. Now, Marvel still hasn't learned that overkill is not a good thing by having another Zombie miniseries coming in a couple months. Please, Enough Already!!!

Enough Already, Marvel!!!

All the damn team books are out of control. Omega Flight, The Order, Gamma Corps (or whatever they are called), New Warrior, Initiative Avengers, New Avengers, Mighty Avengers, X-Men, New X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, X-Factor, Exiles, New Excalibur, The Loners....and,that just names the ones that come to mind off the top of my head. It's too much. I long for a new title featuring a new hero, ala Gravity. When I read The Order, it was finally too much for me to handle.

Enough Already, DC!!!

Superman continues to suck! Does DC not realize that many of the concepts and ideas they are doing are still stuck in the 60's and 70's? Who cares about newspaper reporters, like Clark Kent and Lois Lane? Everyone today gets their info automatically from the television or internet. They don't address that most of the people at the Daily Bugle would be out of a job in today's world. And, Jimmy Olsen is now being shoved down our throats, like he's a DC version of Rick Jones. I've never liked Jimmy Olsen, his wanting to be Superman's pal is completely lame, and his current adventures in Countdown are completely ludacris. (After all, wouldn't Clark have been able to see his new costume under his clothes and knew something was up?) Basically, Superman's world doesn't change and it's the same old people time and time again. One of the success's of Batman is how much the people around him have continually evolved. Heroes, villians, and side-kicks come and go over the years.

Enought Already with anything before 1980, Alex Ross!

This man has made a career out of milking the Golden & Silver Age. At first it was cute. But as his work starts to enter the second decade and he still relies on it, it is time to develop a new schtick or pass the paint brushes to someone who has actually liked something that was filmed, written, or drawn after 1980. We live in the world of hi def Blue-Ray and Ross is still telling us how great the 8-Tracks were.

Enough with Storm-gets-enslaved or Brainwashing Plots, Chris Claremont!

I think this speaks for itself. After some 20 years he's still relied heavily on these bits, especially the second one.

Marvel & DC; Enough with Believing Rape & Death = Instant Emotional Investment!

Too many stories recently utilize rape and death to sort of insert instant emotional gratification without building it up. Much like those "posers" who rip off emo poetry and yet can never match the feel and heart of genuine brooding works of Poe. Rape especially has sometimes become a sort of shorthand for quality, as some writers just figure that upon inserting it, their work is suddenly made more relevant. It is not. Claiming that the rape or murder of a character or their relation would make them feel bad is not a shocking revelation, and too many writers treat it as such, and move on. It's not. Have the skill to do it right, or not at all. But don't use it as a bow to top a mediocre story.

ENOUGHT ALREADY with all you whiney b***hs!

Whining about everything under the son. Superman suxxs, rape suxxs, Alex Ross suxxs cuz he loves the Super Friends. You make me sick. I'm going to spit in your mouth while you sleep.

Enough with Complaining about Complaining!

Because it makes everyone look silly. The Internet was made for complaining.

And Porn.

And illegally downloading music and video.

Hmm...except that the Loners, the New Warriors, the Initiative, X-Factor and Omega Flight are all very cool. The X-Men and Uncanny X-Men teams are okay, but have been around for a very long time. Exiles, New X-Men Gamma Corps, New Excalibur and two Avengers teams instead of one aren't really needed.

Are you saying you'd really want Clark and Lois to work for an Internet news site?

Wow. It lasted ten posts until it got this far. I think everyone here deserves a round of applause.

BRING IT ON!!!!

I love the reprints of old issues they used to do in the 60's-80's, ala Marvel Tales, Marvel Super Heroes, and Marvel Feature. My favorite of them all was in the 90's, when Marvel put out thick books that were called Megazines.

As you can see, these were inexpensive, affordable, 96 page books that reprinted moments from Marvel's past, and they would start the reprints during a major moment in a comic's history, like in Marvel Super-Heroes Megazine, they started the Fantastic Four reprints with the classic John Byrne issues.

Right now, Marvel is giving us Avengers Classic, but it doesn't work for me. This format didn't work as well as Marvel hoped, either; but, it was a time when Marvel was going through bankruptcy, and I would hope it would be more popular today. We just aren't in a day of age where Marvel can put out a single issue at a regular price of 2.99 for some old reprint of a single issue, in my opinion. You have to give the reader value. Megazines are the way to go.

Enough Already!!

No More Events!!

It's been like this for the past few years,DC and Marvel have been throwing event..after event..after event. In some scandal to get readers to buy more,i even see this going into next year. When will it end? Will readers be smart enough, not to buy into this?

Are you saying you'd really want Clark and Lois to work for an Internet news site?

I'm saying, even Marvel has addressed the issue with newspaper companies, like the Daily Bugle, struggling in today's world. DC hasn't. They seem to want to believe that every red-blooded American is picking up the newpaper and wanting to read what Superman has been doing, especially with the roving reporter and photoboy by his side. Today, Superman would have numerous videos on youtube. The characters and ideas are stagnant. (And, Marvel thinking we miss the old characters, like Flash Thompson, has been ineffective, mainly because they butcher the story, like with Flash's amnesia.) Times change...the characters must to, somewhat, to get our attention.

For me, I like the events...to an extent. World War Hulk is great, but in the three issues of the main title, not a lot of time has passed by; thus, the tie-ins have been extremely repetative. Annihilation, that's a great event...and, even better that it isn't anything that has to deal with tie-ins, except for the four books that precede the main event. I'm not sure I like Endangered Species. That's a crappy way to make people buy other books to get the next chapter, especially since it's all just 8 page stories on the back of other stories that don't relate to it in any way. Spidey's black costume is almost an event...but, the movie seems like I've seen it a long while ago, and I'm bored with the black costume already.

I think DC is the worst, even though they really haven't overdone it as much as Marvel. It now seems like all there events have to involve Crisis. I'm all crisised out! And, even the tie-ins for Countdown have been just awful. They are trying to get readers to buy there other books, and it seems to be the driving force behind Countdown...not to tell a story.

Are you seriously asking the man to give up his one source of sexual gratification?

Revamping "forgotten" characters

I usually stay away from the big two these days, but The Eternals was amazing. Likewise with DC and The Spirit. While most of the big hitters have become more banal than ever, these characters have been off the racks for so long that they are a breath of fresh air practically no matter what. Of course, it helps that they have both had excellent creative teams. I'd love to see more books like these every month.

Yes. I am sure Marvel isn't paying him good money to bone off.

Besides Storm, he relies on Brainwashing as a plotline way too much.

I second this, so long as the revamp is good and makes sense.

Say that in another five years when print media has all but gone out of business.

"Ten Years Later"

Okay, most people will hate this idea. But, honestly, I think if well exicuted, it would be brilliant. Marvel has some massive event (I know, they do it a lot and it's getting tiring, but just go with me for a second). Many die, cities are in ruins, the **** hit the fan, basically. And, like DC did with Infinite Crisis, they jump ahead in time afterwards. But instead of one year, it's ten. Sort of forces the Marvel Universe to change in ways that are less artificial. All the things that are really important about the Marvel Universe, The Avengers, the X-Men, the FF, Spidey, and good ol' NY, will still be there. But it will be the details that are different. And, honestly, I think Marvel needs that.
