The Weinstein Company has signed Eric Valette, who directed Warner Bros.' upcoming One Missed Call remake, to helm horror-thriller Clock Tower, based on the Capcom video game. Eric Poppen (Borderland) is adapting for the big screen.

In the film, a young woman checks into a mental hospital and discovers her horrifying past.

Brad Luff, Nicole Rocklin and Anthony Mosawi are producers.

Brittany Snow (Prom Night) will star in Senator Entertainment's video game adaptation Clock Tower, with Martin Weisz directing the production, reports Variety.

The story centers on a troubled psychiatric patient who witnessed her parents die and is constantly plagued by religious imagery.

Senator is financing, with CEO Marco Weber and production head Vanessa Coifman producing.

Shooting will begin in November in Los Angeles.

"Resident Evil" franchise star Milla Jovovich is committing herself to another video game adaptation: Clock Tower. The actress will play Alyssa Barron and join Brittany Snow and Alyssa Jayne Hale.

Martin Weisz is bringing this long-mooted project to life for Senator Entertainment and The Weinstein Company.

Eric Poppen's screenplay is said to take its cue from the second installment of the "Clock Tower" series which finds the heroine locked up in a psychiatric hospital trying to escape the curse that has haunted her family for generations.

Shooting begins in November
