This sounds hilarious. Couldn't find a thread so here you go.

NEW YORK — Now that he's done running a meth empire as Walter White, Bryan Cranston will return to his comedic roots. Crackle, the Sony-owned streaming service, has announced that it has commissioned Tightrope, a comedic detective series executive-produced by the Emmy-winning Breaking Bad star.

Tightrope takes old detective shows and replaces the main character with a modern actor. Fresh off of his Tony nomination for his portrayal of Lyndon Johnson in the play All the Way, Cranston pitched the show to a room full of ad sales representatives at Wednesday's NewFront presentations. He began by confessing, "not many people know this, but I've always had a thing for *****," referring to the detective television shows of the '40s and '50s.

In Tightrope, most everything from the outdated detective show will stay the same: same dialogue, same plotlines, same black-and-white look, etc. The only difference is the main character will be replaced by a modern actor reacting with fish-out-of water comic dialogue.
