New Regency has acquired "Freedom Formula: Ghost of the Wasteland," an adaptation of the Radical Publishing comic book series that will be developed as a potential directing vehicle for Bryan Singer, reports Variety. 20th Century Fox will distribute.

The comic book has a futuristic premise in which fighter jets have been replaced by pilots who battle in racing exo-suits. The protagonist is a genetically engineered racer who learns his bloodline has the power to change society.

Michael Finch has been hired to write the script.

Hmm, mecha fighting?

So basically snagging a giant robot pic made here in America as opposed to remaking an earlier Japanese property.

Sounds more like ExoSquad than anything else.

i can nto whait

singer: i am introducing the characters. you will get big robots fighting in the sequel. you will care more.

Just make a live action version of Megas XLR starring that ****er from My Name is Earl, and we'll be set.

Should be cool.

This would make a great idea for a comic book!

Meh.

I would rather have him do Taking Prisoners.

LOVING the sound of this, big fan of Singer also, love his movies, love the premise for this as well, I will be keeping my eye on this one.

i am serious. its one of the worst answers in movie history.
''why dont you have a supervillain and more action''
singer: i am introducing the characters. i want you to care.

which is funny since the movie is a semi sequel to S:TM. funny is also how can you say this when you have 200 millions.

It was three years ago, build a bridge and get over it. X-Men 1 had plenty of action.

Anyway sounds like a mix between Iron Man and Starship Troopers. Hopefully Singer directs and 20 Century Fox leave him to his devices, because last time they did, we got X2.

aha so FOX will just let him do the movie right? of course they will :o

Singer should never work for FOX again. they way they acted when he was doing the first x-men movies was a disaster.

And Singer overcame the adversity that Ridley Scott, Matthieu Kassovitz, Alex Proyas, Tim Burton, Xavier Gens, Chris Carter and The Hughes Brothers could not. He took all the B.S. Fox threw at him and still delivered two highly regarded films.

Fox is only distributing anyway, like they did with Taken.

so they have the rights to edit the movie ?
didnt FOX make a PG13 version of Taken?

You think this movie wont be PG-13?

The action scenes will most likely echo Iron man vs. Iron Monger.

i will say that the plane sequence in SR was amazing. the angles, lighting and the drama was amazing.
but i always have a feeling that Singer liked only the characters in x-men and in superman. i have a feeling that he doesnt like to do action. like he is forced to do it to make hes story with those character.
