Recently, it was announced that Budweiser might be bought by a European company.

June 2 (Bloomberg) -- InBev NV, the world's largest brewer, is close to agreeing a $50 billion finance package with JPMorgan Chase & Co., Banco Santander SA and Merrill Lynch & Co. that would allow it to bid for Anheuser-Busch Cos., the maker of Budweiser beer, the Daily Telegraph reported, without saying where it obtained the information.
Once the financing is arranged, a formal offer may be sent to Anheuser-Busch within the week, the newspaper said.
InBev, which expressed interest in Anheuser-Busch last October, may have been persuaded into making a bid because Adolphus Busch IV, a half-brother of former chief executive officer August Busch III, said some family members may be open to takeover talks, the Telegraph reported.

Bud holds it's headquarters here where I live, and employs 6,000 people. They give a lot of money to charities across the world. i don't have anything against Europeans at all. But Bud is an American institution! It needs to keep an American institution. Please, if you would, sign this petition.

I drink Sam Adams or Guinness.

I've been boycotting them since they bought Rolling Rock and moved the brewery from Latrobe to NJ. Sorry

I don't like Budweiser. They can go away for all I care.

I don't drink, but everyone around me that does says Budweiser is terrible.

I have only been drinking booze for a year, Budweiser doesn't really have too much flavor to it. A lot of people regard it as beer flavor water.
I drink it, I think it's fine. It's not that strong either tho which is less than preferable.

I think Bud's iconography and adverts are an institution, or atleast iconic, but the beer itself is not all that.
If you want proper beer you need to get European.

Corona

San Miguel

Estrella Damn

yea,

When some drinks cost over $8.00 at a bar, I'll grab a Bud, it's fine.

I saw this, and i looks pretty likely unfortunately. InBev has even said that if the board rejects the offer (which Busch IV doesn't want to sell) that they will go to the shareholders making it a hostile takeover. I'm from St. Louis also and really don't want it to be sold.

Although if it was, Budweisre would still be around. The whole point of buying them is that you get their brand name. However, would it still be in St. Louis is anpother question altogether.

And for everyone saying that Bud sucks/tastes bad and don't care, well I say try diffent Bud products. They have a rdiculous amount of beers actually and most only try bud light and say "well this sucks". Sure it's not that great, i admit it, but it's supposed to be a lower end mass produced beer. Try one of their "higher quality" ones and see if you might like that more. If they're bought out, it'll be the bud lights that stay and the smaller brands that disappear.

The merger won't improve the taste so I'll stick with better beers.

I drink Bud sometimes, I love craft brews especially from New England.

This whole merger doesnt mean its going away, it just means new management. Either is really a possibility.

Actually, the original Budweiser was a Czech beer that was exported to the US for several years in the 1870s before Anheuser-Busch registered their own "Budweiser" for the American market.

Real european heeeeroes!!!!

nah, doesn't have the same ring to it.

So what will that mean for Busch Gardens Europe (in VA) and Busch Gardens Africa (in FL)?

:o

Why do people think online petitions actually mean anything??? I drink Newcastle and Magic Hat myself...

<<<<go Magic Hat!!

Plus its business. The market is becoming global. Changes like this will happen. Screw the petition. Without this merger, its possible Bud wont survive. They are losing market share.

yea,
aren't those three Mexicans?

and for the record: Indio Beer is the best beer, next to Victoria and MGD

Corona IS Mexican and should never be considered proper by any means.

and neither should MGD for that matter

Corona is amongst the worse donkey piss liquids that pass for beer I've drunk

I find MGD a very nice beer to drink on hot summer afternoons

Maybe they will start brewing decent beer.
With the exception of some micro brews american beer is really bad.
