Yes, it's been over a year now since Ratner's X3: The Last Stand let us all down (okay, maybe not all of us), and we're pretty much stuck with it now. Pretty soon after it came out, I was coming up with a long list of ways to make it the X-Men franchise finale it should have been (did the same with Spider-Man 3 last month). I thought of another idea that I wanted to share, one that would lead into a 4th X-Men film. I just figured out how to add Mr. Sinister into the mix.
  • Worthington summons Dr. Rao to develop a mutant cure, and she gets help from a tall, enigmatic, brilliant geneticist named Dr. Essex.
  • There's the scene where Quill and the others surround Worthington and Rao to kill them. Essex would be there too. They kill Rao, and turn to Essex. Then suddenly, he turns up his own powers and wipes them all out. Then he steals blood samples of each of their corpses and slips away.
  • The last scene would show Essex returning to his secret lab, where he adds the samples to his collection. We would also see that his lab contains a long row of chambers full of mutant clones.
In X-Men 4, we would learn what he was really up to: Participating in the mutant cure was just a way of collecting genetic information on a lot of mutants in order to breed an army of Marauder clones loyal to him and to his master, Apocalypse!

Just wanted to share that. God, I want to write one of these movies so bad.
