Buzzfeed Polls General Audience On The DCEU

This seems to be a pretty large poll and Buzzfeed is a site that would generally draw in regular audience members outside the fandoms.

Some of the results may surprise you, or not.


Which main character of the DCEU is the best?

Wonder Woman = 74% [81.9K Votes]

Batman = 18% [20.2K Votes]

Superman = 8% [8119 Votes]


I'd argue the Nolan Batman would have fared a lot better, but it's shocking to see Batman defeated in such a manner.

Fantastic to see Wonder Woman blasting the rest of them out of the water. Got more votes than the other three put together. Especially heartening to see such a low vote for Batman v Superman and Man of Steel.
Even Suicide Squad blew those two away. And yes, the DCEU Superman is absolutely the worst.

a 100 K+ votes is more representative than anything we've seen regarding how people feel about Snyder's take on Superman and Batman. You're just upset because most people on that site seem to hate Snyder's work.

I don't understand how the best movie getting the most votes and a terrible movie getting the least votes is a sad thing. It just means the general public has more common sense and can tell the difference between a peach and a lemon.

The only one I disagreed with was on the best villain. I voted for Faora and Zod would have been my second choice, both of which ranked really low. Didn't like the rest at all.

Other than that, I think the results are spot on.

Solid results. Though Batman is worse than Superman. But I suppose since people have had a double dose of Cavill's dour Superman, it's left a worse impression.

I mean it's recency bias. People loved the most recent presentation of WW and disliked the most recent presentation of both Batman and Supes.

Hopefully Justice League can bring Bats and Supes back from the brink.

Batman's warehouse fight being at 3% boggles my mind a little bit, along with Faora being last. Makes me thing people voting hadn't even seen MoS.

It's also interesting that "mainstream" voters seem to like Suicide Squad so much better than BvS -- I think there are a lot of younger millennial types (many of them women) who were into Harley/Joker based on the results for Harley, Joker, and Harley's "birth." Bodes well for Gotham City Sirens.

Obviously Joker won because he is a popular character. It's an anomaly. People were voting for the Joker, not the DCEU Joker.
Are you saying Wonder Woman won because she is the most popular character in the world and Batman v Superman lost because
Batman and Superman are the least popular characters in the world. If so, why it that?

I think part of it was lack of options. None of them were great, so there was no obvious choice.

Meh. At least Leto is memorably awful. Shannon's Zod is bland, overshadowed by his henchwoman, and his defining character trait is getting his neck snapped by Superman.

The buzzfeed polls are in no way representative of the general population but it is somewhat representative of the fandom considering the large sample size, so it's not whatever I say but rather what the fandom says and you're simply getting defensive because alot of fans seem to hate Snyder's work, even more so than David Ayer's SS, which is quite a dubious accomplishment.

I dont have one. Although it is already pretty obvious to me without seeing this poll that Gal's WW is the most popular among the bunch, and I couldnt be more happier about it. I've defended her casting since day 1.

The problem with Buzzfeed is that the target audience for that website is..well probably 13 year old kids. And the overwhelming votes for HQ and Joker, rather solidifies that opinion. Thats just a guess. But I dont think too highly of Buzzfeed people, and you can disagree with that and I have no problem.It doesnt really matter to me if that poll gets a huge chunk of votes.

Buzzfeeds main demographic honestly seems to be majority women from like 16-30. Either way it's a pretty solid sample size and imo not a bad source to use regarding the opinions of the general majority public
