Any other ravers on the HYPE? C'mon, there has gotta be!

I've been to a lot of raves down the years. Went to my first rave when I was 16, t'was madness!

Rain Dance

One Nation

Innovation

Eski-Dance

Deepah

Ministry of Sound

MC Convention

Battle of the MCs

Sidewinder

Helter Skelter

I mainly like drum n bass. But I do like old school and garage/dub step too.

So come on ravers, push up your lighter!!!!

Wow! No fellow ravers? I'm bitterly, bitterly disappointed. You guys don't know what you are missing.

Don't know much about the music-can't say I absolutely hate it, but I definitely don't like it :p

Everyone I know just turned to ecstacy and raves after first hating on the music and on the true ravers...guess that's what turned me off. It's almost like a phase that people are going through and it's dumb. No offense though haha

Well it's not just one kind of music.

I bet you think it's that cheesy euro techno or something don't ya? ;)

And I wouldn't call it a phase, I've been going raving since I was at school. It's a way of life. I rather go raving than go to a club where a lot of people have attitudes and fights usually break out.

The feeling of being one with the music, in the middle of a 10,000 strong crowd is something that can't really be described. But it is truly immense. I recommend it to everyone, there is no other feeling like it.

sounds like dirty hippie talk to me....and "way of life" really?? I thought you were above cliches, Knaves

Well it ain't really a way of life:D. But I just think raving is brilliant. It's definitely not for everyone, but I thought some people on here would have been raving before.

Ive had to pick people up from raves, that is really the extent of my exposure to that world

Ahhh i see, you are seeing the worst of it then. :D

It's better inside ;)

What's it like inside? I'm curious.

How does one find a good rave?

I don't know what it's like in America. But over here in England there is a rave every month I would say. Then you have your big events once a year or something like that. And countless illegal ones.

New Years eve raves are the best ones. The best rave I've ever been to was Rain Dance New Years eve 2006.

You don't HAVE to do drugs and all that at raves like I imagine some people believe. A few of my mates just go and have a few drinks.

I have always wanted to go to one, but I am worried I will end up a drugge out mess by the end of the night

Raves ARE great!

Haven't been to one in quite some time though as here in Belfast there just ain't that many good 'rave' clubs that you'd go to unless you're 20 or under.

Keep meaning to get a few of the folks together and head over to Manchester or London for a bit of old-school raving. Any recommendations for clubs Ace?

Although I haven't gone to an actual rave, per se, I have gone to various DJ concerts that I would consider pretty damn close and they are **** tons of fun. I would go all the time if they had any where I'm at.

I'm not a raver. I am, however, a misbehaver... Does that count?

Raves are fun, and so is the music  I've been mostly exposed to trance...the last time I went to a rave, I heard a lot that I loved but I'm not certain what "genre" it was classified as.

That's the spirit folks!!!!

Kenshin I would say just try it out. You don't have to get on the drugs. You could just drink then towards the end of the night just chill out and smoke some weed. Most of the raves over here have little chill out sections with couches or whatever where people just go a smoke weed and make out n that :D

Rambo I would recommend Fabric or Ministry of Sound for rave clubs.

If you wanna go to a proper rave though then Stratford Rex, Brixton Academy or The Arches are usually venues for them. But obviously they are a little rougher.

And misbehaving isn't quite the same thing Wesley :D But I'll give you props for it

And cool to see you love a bit of raving Pickles! You gotta take Spoons along with ya next time!

Sweet! :D What are the raves like in America?

Probably not nearly as fun as the ones in Britain :csad: The scene on the East Coast has died down a lot as compared to the 80's and early 90's when really wild raves were thrown. The raves now are planned events at bars and clubs...usually a lot of an under 21 crowd, so not much drinking going on. The music is always fantastic, though.

Cool. I know there is a pretty big drum n bass scene in America and Canada, well, there used to be.

Been to any drum n bass/jungle raves?
