Can anyone sumarize the season?

As far as Clark being sidelined. He wasnt sidelined in Zod, Sneeze, Wither, Arrow, Fallout, Rage, or Subterranean, not to mention 75% of ALL Smallville episodes. So I dont see what the problem is with an episode every once and a while that focuses on other characters, especially Lex since the show is about his journey too.

As far as Lex's character:

Is Lex beyond redemption yet?

What's wonderful about Lex's character is that he is always on the fence of redemption. Every episode, you are constantly looking at him wondering whether this is the moment where he turns evil for the rest of his life or is this the moment where the good hearts of the people around him save him from the dark side? This season is really about showing both of those sides of him to the extreme. He's getting darker than we've ever seen him before, but his love affair with Lana is showing the tender side of him in a way we've never seen him before.

Thus why we saw more of a tender Lex in Static. Yes, Lex is getting darker. But when people change they dont just drop every single part of their former selves. There will always be small parts of the good Lex lingering (especially while he's with Lana who brings out those parts of him), he'll just choose to bury or hide it more and more in the future.

I dun care what anybody says, Im still not sure why Lana is interested in Lex, besides his money ofcourse. Lex seems to only like lana for her looks, i have know idea why their together. Its the same feeling it get when Lana and Clark were "dateing" early on last year, they had nothing in common either.

Watch last season's Lockdown for an answer. Lex and Lana are both lonely souls whose lives have been affected greatly by the meteor shower. For Lana, she sees Lex as an honest man despite their differences in the past, and he's always been there for her. Remember in past seasons, she would always go to him for advice or consoling. For Lex, there's the jealousy thing with Clark, as well as the fact that Lana has never betrayed him like every other woman. He sees her as truly pure of heart and he's attracted to that, similarly to how he used to be attracted (although not romantically, of course) to Clark because of his virtuous traits.
