Cast a Batman and Superman team up movie in place of MOS

Ehem...

You're not wrong, I agree he's perfect too. For the longest time I've argued in favor Billy Zane. I think he'd be perfect as Lex in a more lighthearted, dare I say 'marvel' type movie. I know he would channel that TAS version of Lex so naturally and perfectly.

But man that image of Timothy Olyphant really stood out to me. Really brought me back to this:

I also wouldn't be opposed to going older with Lex a la Bryan Cranston or someone similar. If you look at the older cartoons Lex definitely wasn't a young man. Maybe in his 40's-50's?

Wayne Tech and LexCorp are developing a new metal alloy called "Metallo" with the intention of revolutionizing the medical field. However, when Batman responds to a break-in at a LexCorp warehouse in Gotham by Metropolis' notorious Intergang (with John Corben and pre-Firefly Garfield Lynns) where the alloy is specifically targeted, he decides its time to pay the city of tomorrow a visit.

The Daily Planet has been investigating Lex Luthor as well, with Lois Lane and Clark Kent working to tie Intergang's funding and advanced weaponry to LexCorp.

Luthor bonds John Corben to with the experimental metal alloy to create Metallo as Metropolis' new superhero. To gain the city's trust, tragedies are orchestrated for Metallo to rescue citizens. In doing so, he also frames Superman & Batman, turning public opinion against them.

The two heroes must team together to defeat Metallo & Luthor, while clearing their name.

Affleck is the perfect Batman imo but Cavill hasn't wowed me. I like Hoechlin better.

Armie Hammer probably would've made a great Superman
I like that cast^ not feeling Lee Pace tho

Metallo should've been the villain with a different guy as Lex

Pace seems like more of a Supes to me but that's pretty cool, nevertheless.

I think Pace could bring a big theatricality to Batman that would help in a greater DCEU

Pace looks more like a Bruce Wayne, but I don't think he really resembles either Batman or Superman.

Ah, Ben Walker would be good. I used to think he was terrible after I saw that stupid Abe Lincoln movie he did, but I think that was more Timur Bumblingidiotetov's direction more than anything else. I really wish I would have gotten to see him in American Psycho on Broadway.

Benjamin Walker as Superman could be brilliant. He has a sort of George Reeves quality to him.

Walker is a talented actor. I'd be fine with him as Shazam, or even in a Superman reboot down the line.

I think it's important they learn from the mistakes of Snyder and cast an actor first this time.

Build and physique is secondary. Any Hollywood trainer can transform an actor.

I still think Cavill could be a great Superman if he was working with a real director and not just a guy whose only thought when filming a scene is "Wow, wouldn't it be cool if...".

Anyway, yeah, I'm pretty much in "burn it all down and start over" mode when it comes to the DCEU. The casting choices I like (Cavill and Adams) have been hampered by bad direction and writing and more or less run into the ground. Others I'm either meh on (Affleck), okay with but not exactly thrilled (Miller and Momoa) or haven't formed a real opinion of (Fisher and Gadot). But I'd drop them all in a heartbeat if WB decided to start from scratch and hired a real Kevin Feige type to guide this universe to where it belongs.

Yeah. Cavill's just not very good, in my opinion.

Maybe you guys are right, I don't know. I liked him in MOS and The Tudors, at least. But there has to be a reason why he gets so little work.

I had her down as Barbara but Katherine Waterston would be a way better Lois.

I like her and definitely thought about her, but I'm not sure she has enough spunk for Lois. I felt like they where going for a Katharine Hepburn / Jennifer Jason Leigh in Hudsucker Proxy thing with her in Fantastic Beasts, but she didn't quite pull it off.

Since we're having a hypothetical, here's a Superman / Batman crossover event featuring Bale & Routh.

The movie is set after the events of The Dark Knight and would have began a DCEU moving forward with those iterations of the characters.

Batman & Superman: World's Finest (2010)
Directed by Bryan Singer
Story by Christopher Nolan, Bryan Singer, & David Goyer
Written by David Goyer w/ Michael Dougherty & Dan Harris

Joss Whedon directs the after credit scene with Cobie Smulders as Wonder Woman.

I think they would have replaced Bosworth as LL, like they did for Holmes in Batman Begins.

Don't forget Ryan Reynolds as the Goyer-script Flash.
