Cast the Mortal Kombat Remake

yeah...my favorite fight, by far, was Reptile vs Liu Kang. like you said...face paced, aggressive, and intense. it was very well choreographed and had several stunts that really made me cringe because it they must've hurt. that's kind of what i wanted Scorpion to fight like, but i'm glad they saved that fight for Reptile because i consider that fight a bonus fight and it was my fave fight of the film.

It was really great how they included him as a hidden fighter, just like in the original Mortal Kombat game.

Yea MK1 was great best video game adaptation yet IMO I don't care wat anyone says

Yeah, Mortal Kombat the movie is the Best Video Game Adaptation, and second place goes to........ uhhhhhhhhh............idk.

i think Silent Hill is the best so far with MK being in 2nd. 3rd would goto Doom, imo.

the games are pretty creepy. i have yet to play one in the dark...hehe. the movie was alright but as far as retaining the game's ideas and imagery, i don't think there's a more faithful video game movie.

Silent hill was good... but I never playd the game just wiki'd it b4 I watchd the movie lol I say mk was the best cuz it kept close to the actual story and game and it still had tons of action some comedy and overall a well rounded movie and a entertaining one at that.... alot of non fans of the movie actually went to see the movie... whereas silent hill not so much(not to bash the movie in anyway cuz like I said it was good)

MK was definitely a more POPULAR movie than Silent Hill, but i think Silent Hill was better put together. MK has a lot of popcorn banter such as one-liners, unneeded special effects shots, and a very basic plot and storyline. i'd rather watch MK than Silent Hill on any given day, but i think Silent Hill holds up better to scrutinization.

if MK was less fluff and if it stayed true to it's mature roots (blood/gore/etc) then i probably would've considered it the best video game movie.

MK was one of the first of its kind too as a VG adaptation

imo...Ray Park has more sinister eyes than Chris Casamassa. here's a quick manip of Ray as Scorpion.

if you didn't see it when it first came out then you won't appreciate it the way we do. i saw it about a year ago and i realize that it's a pretty crappy movie, but i was about 13 when it came out so my knowledge and standards for movies were much lower then.

I'm 24- and was a big MK fan who saw it at the cinema. The biggest problem I had with it, was that I was hoping it'd be a dark, atmospheric and bloody movie. It wasn't any of those things and the story was lousy. Theres about 20 seconds of goodness though. They could make a really good MK movie with todays technology if only they had a $150 mil budget.

well, even though SF had it beat by a year you're right...MK was the first of it's kind, decent VG adaptations.

hell...less than that. Hellboy 1 had a $66 mil budget.

I don't kknow about any of you guys but I enjoyed the Resident evil series of movies, as video game adaptations not very much but as just plain out zombie movies I really liked them, they have very lil in common with the games besides having certain characters in them.

I hated the resident evil movies, they turned the movies into a invincible chick. Wtf....

I agree with you 110%

I just wonder if another MK will ever happen. Didn't they plan a 3rd Movie for years now?

This isn't a 3rd its a remake... basically l8ike starting over

You know, I've been posting in here several times now. But I never really noticed the link in your first post. I didn't know a remake is actually considered. Thought this was nothing more than a dream casting thread.

Reading comprehension ftw. -_-

my understanding is that the movie was going to film in new orleans but when huricane katrina struckthe project was shelved

Let's talk about costumes. If this remake actually gets made, what would you like the characters to look like? Something simple like the first couple games and the first Movie, which still managed to look badass IMO, or something more unique?

I thought the Ninjas looked great, though it would be nice if there'd be more differences than just the color and mask. For example, I'd love for Sub Zero's costume to be based on his MK:Shaolin Monks design.

But I'd tone it down a little and mix it with the costume from the first Movie. I'd remove the shoulder guards and give him the long sleeves which I personally always prefered in the Movies. And then I'd maybe paint the shin and knee pads black so he doesn't look too much like an action figure, or even completely remove them as well.

To be honest I want sub zero to have the frosted arms and hands... so imma say no to the long sleeves

The classic designs from MK1 and 2 are the best; so I'd want to see them.
The frosted hands and eyes on sub would be cool, but I'd want scorpion to look like MK1 scorpion and not the more recent designs.

Yea leave scorpion to the classic look maybe a lil updated but nothin too major.... just updated...
