Cast the new DCU

Could Bautista be Martian Manhunter or should he not play another green alien for James Gunn
I'd take him as Mongul or Wildcat. Mongul is my top pick for him, even though he isn't as big, he can easily do the mocap. Not to say he couldn't do MM. He definitely wouldn't be on my short list for him. Lol.

If we’re keeping Blue Beetle in canon & still looking for an older Ted Kord, what about Noah Wyle?
Him being at the Superman premiere did strike me as interesting. It’s possible he was there just as a fan or as someone in the WB family with The Pitt, but it’s also possible he was there for… other reasons.

Nerds would hype him up as this huge character and Gunn just has him be Condiment King and die in the most ****ed up way possible. :o

I would be down for Adkins to be Slade’s stunt double. But I want an actual actor for Deathstroke. Adkins is basically a piece of lumber that happens to kick ass.

(And I say all of this as someone who enjoys his Ninja films.)
I think he had some range in Avengement.

Timothy Olyphant

Tim as Brainiac is a no-brainer for me.

Sorry for the pun.

Jack Quaid would 100% be Barry Allen. Wally West needs more of a hothead quality.
Interesting. I’d never consider Wally to be a hothead. But admittedly I am a huge fan of the character.

Barry I see as an arrogant, entitled, jerk. He’s the Hal Jordan of the Flash family.

That's funny. I actually see Barry as the easygoing , affable every- / family-man.

While Wally is the young hothead who gets into a ****load of trouble before settling into his groove and fulfilling his potential as both a man and a hero.

My vision of both characters is very much informed by the Silver Age era for Barry and the post crisis era for Wally, though.

I am a huge fan of both. And Wally's ups and downs ARE part of the reason of why I love the character.

His journey is quite a rollercoaster ride, and it's beautiful to see him settle down and mature into his role.

If I recall correctly, the director was eying Jason Sudeikis, I think it's a solid enough choice.
I think it also important to keep in mind that when casting an older Ted Kord, there is always the possibility of a prequel of a young Ted Kord as Blue Beetle back in their prime

so, who would be the young equivalent of these actors

I'd like Freddy Highmore, but he doesn't look like Jason Sudeikis very much.

There's a Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle animated series coming. Maybe we can get some young Ted Kord flashbacks or something there, especially with Gunn saying Blue Beetle fits nicely into the DCU.

Side note. I've been watching Alien: Earth and Babou Ceesay would make a great Grorilla Grodd. His voice and cadence sounds so threatening and cunning. Even his facial expressions would translate well to Grodd imo.

This probably means nothing but I saw some online speculation that Monica Barbaro might be playing Wonder Woman (or someone in the DCU) because she started following David and Rachel.

She could be a good Diana, I think. I liked her in Top Gun, and she was fantastic in A Complete Unknown.

Would be a neat choice! She kinda looks a little bit like young Michelle Monaghan, who also voiced Wonder Woman in a DCAMU film.

They don't even has a script yet, why would they cast Wonder Woman, already?
Did they cast Superman without a script? Did they cast GL before they had a script?
What's up with all this BS "He/She Cast as... because she start follwing this and that?
Those speculations are getting ridiculous..

Maybe she's showing up in Peacemaker. Gunn's been hyping up these super secret special appearances.

More likely it's much ado about nothing though.

I’m all for getting caught up in the excitement of speculation, but do we really think we’ll have the next Wonder Woman dead to rights just because she decided to start following the actors playing Supes and Lois on Instagram?

I think someone here clocked Angela Sarafyan was playing Lara after she started following James Gunn (or maybe he followed her?)

True, but I have to imagine there’s a greater level of secrecy when it comes to Wonder Woman as opposed to Superman’s mom.
